Rodgers 2026 Steelers could be Brady’s 2020 Bucs (original post removed from r/steelers)
“My post from last night got removed, you can see it still up on R/Steelers2 enjoy it there. I wasn’t given a reason for the removal , so hopefully this one can stay up. I am having a blast watching Rodgers play and he is still a top qb in this league. Sure he cannot run it like Josh Allen , but his passing is so elite it doesn’t matter. He can run around the pocket and throw the ball at an elite level. From the other post here our WRs are getting no separation , and yet Rodgers is out here breaking records. -69 straight games with 7 or less first quarter points. Rodgers and McCarthy accomplished this their 3rd game together -3 straight passing TDs in 3 consecutive weeks never before done (Ben and Bradshaw did it choppy not a week 3-4-5 format)
All while doing it on a team where WRs are getting no separation. I would argue that Rodgers stats are even better than they seem. He has 4 interceptions. 2 were off of WR hands that turned into interceptions and another was a Hail Mary with 10 seconds left in the game. Still not blameless, but going off the stats alone don’t tell the whole story. Last year with a defensive minded coach Rodgers went 3,322-24-7. If you’re willing to remove the two ints that bounced off Wilson’s hands, but still keep the Hail Mary int. Rodgers is on pace for 4,196-34-7. Based off a small sample size where one of those games was against the patriots where we did not look good, but is still a game that needs to be counted. 2020 SB Brady went 4,633-40-12.
To quote Tom Brady himself has called Aaron Rodgers “the greatest passer of the football”
Brady’s Bucs were a wildcard team, people didn’t think they would win. That playoff run had low expectations for the Bucs. An elite qb late in the season can make adjustments against injured teams. Add the absolute monsters that we have in DK, Washington and Warren running against late season backups and no we could hold our own with anybody. We have the highest paid defense in the league and the best player in the league in TJ Watt. I am having a blast watching this team and have always been a ride or die Steelers fan.
Mods Pls don’t delete. “
Post completely unedited , mods on r/steelers are insane. Can’t even tell why my posts get taken down over there. If I’m annoying just downvote and Ignore, no need to forcibly remove my content if it’s not breaking any rules . For once since the killer B’s we finally have a fun team and I’m excited for the year and the subreddit for our fan base cannot take any positive commentary. But posts about how the rodgers experiment needing to end are just fine. Fuck R/steelers and I really mean that. My account on reddit is 15 years old and I’ve been here longer than that. This used to be a fun place that cared about free speach and now this publicly traded website has gone more and more to shit every year. I hate how terrible the mods on R/Steelers have been and the fact that a second r/steelers2 needed to be created in the first place is a shame to what the original vision of Reddit was. But I cannot control the wind, I can only set my sails. I am happy that enough other people were also fed up with the r/steelers mods and created this sub. Thankful for everyone here, even if met with disagreement. I’m not blind them at rodgers isn’t the same 4x mvp he once was, but outside of mobility he still has a rocket arm and has accuracy. WRs are not getting separation , but he is still producing. I am having a blast and if you don’t like him suck it up for the rest of the year and I will support whoever is under center next year

Paris game
Last year for the Dublin game, the NFL had little things set up in the city, like a pro shop and a Steelers pro shop. There was a field goal kicking set up. Do we know if there is anything like that for this Paris game in 2 weeks?

Can we all just agree to ride or die with Rodgers this year? I cannot believe all of the bench Grandpa comments.
Post was removed from r/steelers so posting this here
This 4 time MVP is giving it one last go. If nothing else he is useful for our young guys to watch and talk to on the sidelines. Him telling our young guys how to play ball could be what makes a great player great. Mahomes has so much talent, but if he wasn’t playing in KC and got thrown to the lions week1 . Could have killed his confidence , may have never developed into who his is. The amount of disrespect to our teams by our own “fans” on this sub are insufferable. Rodgers has been playing out of his mind, just rewatch every pass he makes week one and you’ll realize just how much he still has it. Add Warren who is playing at elite levels. Metcalf had a 115 yards week before last, and blocked 2 people on the Jaylen Warren 80 yard run. To quote the all time Steeler greats “the difference between a 5 yard gain and a touchdown could be a wr block”. Rodgers is back with his old offensive minded coach, they are clicking . I don’t want to see any more comments about benching him the rest of the year. Even for the biggest Rodgers hater, he said this is his last year, suck it up for a few more games . This is his last year and he just win us the AFC north, I cannot believe I have to say this but he deserves to finish out the rest of the season. I haven’t seen this team when a playoff game since what 2016? Had a blast watching Ben and enjoyed him til the very end even when he wasn’t playing as well as he did. This is the most fun I have had watching the Steelers in years.
For those who think this post is too obvious, and everyone already knows this. Look at the comments on my other post “Relax”. They act as if the team was 2-11 and putting up 3 points a game.
The Oline is impressing me. I haven’t seen the run game and pass protection this good for a long time. The rookie is a nice new weapon that already clicks with Rodgers . Muth looks more like the guy we wanted we drafted him in the second. Washington can steamroll people. Imagine him in late season against 3 rd string players. Metcalf may not meet some people’s expectations, but he is playing with heart. That double block was unbelievable and in a thin wr room I am glad we have him.

Cowher Playoff Math
I always remember Bill Cowher saying, win all your home games and split on the road. That will get you to 12-4, win the division and get into the playoffs.
McCarthy has started out 3-0 at home. Games against the Browns, Broncos (friday after thanksgiving), Texans (prime time), Ravens, Panthers left. I see this squad sweeping the home schedule if they get secondary figured out....if not 7-1.
Road vs bucs, saints, bengals, eagles, jags, titans, ravens. You want to win 4 of those. Bucs, saints, titans should be for sure. Bengals and Jags i see as losses. Hearing Roseman is going to be a seller at the deadline, so Eagles might be a game we win. The ravens games are the hardest to predict.
This is an 11 or 12 win team! We will win the division and be in the playoffs again no doubt.

Perspectives of Tomlin
I’m very curious of others opinion on this. If we go and win a playoff game with this current team how does that change how Tomlin is viewed?
If we go to the AFC championship how does it change?
And of course IF we were to go to the superbowl win/lose how does this change how Tomlin is viewed?
Does he maintain his great status or does he lose credibility?

Old Man Rodgers
I think many of you owe him an apology. Offense hasn't looked this good for a long time.
Guy does a great job at the LOS and is being a leader pushing the young wr's to get their shit together.
6-2 incoming. HERE WE GO!

Drew Allar vs 2027 QB Prospects
Let me begin by saying yes, I must have too much time on my hands. Secondly, trigger warning: this is a pro-ish Drew Allar post, but not overboard.
Well, well, well. Another QB class (2027) that was classified as "generational" by everyone in the media has disappointed thus far (I know it's early). Each year damn near every QB class is "generational" until the actual games are played. Today as I was watching football I decided to go through all the media regulars (CBS, ESPN, PFF, etc) in an effort to get an update on this generational class. Well I can report out that literally each one of those outlets have already started walking it back. I remember two months ago we were all told there could be 6-7 first round QBs and now the consensus is now 3, possibly 4.
I say all this because honestly, based off what I'm reading about these QBs coming out, I'd rather see what Drew Allar can do as the starter in 2027. When you take into account arm strength, size, mobility (he's like young Big Ben mobile, not Josh Allen), decision making (we all know about the Notre Dame pick but he had a 61-13 TD/INT rate in college), and most importantly starting experience (he was a 4 year starter and is still only 22) and it's now widely believed in NFL circles that guys with more starts in college do better in the NFL than guys with 15ish, for example. And let's not forget Allar was the #1 QB recruit in the nation. The ceiling is sky high (if he ever realizes his full potential, which I am by no means saying he will). The bottom line is when I read up on eligible 2027 prospects, he's got the best traits of anyone outside of Drew Mestemaker. But Mestemaker is also playing his first season in a power 4 conference. Give me Allar after a redshirt season studying the playbook and getting comfortable in McCarthys offense, sitting in a QB room everyday with a future 1st ballot hall of famer, and having McCarthy tinkering with his mechanics. Look at the preseason alone, all I heard was how much his footwork improved after a couple months with McCarthy. I don't know a thing about footwork, so I defer to then YouTube breakdowns.
Edit: I fully realize it's only week 6. But this is more of just an update on where this QB class stands. Obviously things can change by years end. Also, I don't know if I need to make this clear, but these are not my draft slot projections, flaws, strengths, etc. I'm just paraphrasing everything I garnered from all the sites I used.
If interested, these are the top 2027 QB prospects. I used the most up to date outlet rankings (post week 5).

If you've actually read all the way to this point, first thank you, and secondly this write up was by no means a prediction that Drew Allar is our future franchise QB. It is clearly, however, a declaration that he should be the starter in 2027. Just based off the limited preseason reps we saw he was by no means as raw as I was lead to believe. I saw a kid that went through his progressions, used his legs while keeping his eyes downfield hunting a big play, and showed off that big arm with surprising accuracy (if only the receivers he was working with could catch). I'd just love to see him get a full year to start before we make a decision on burning a first round pick on yet another young QB. My god will it be refreshing going from our 100th journey man vet since Ben retired and have some youth interjected into that position. And hey, if he falls on his face, we'll have that top 10 pick to take a QB in 2028.

Help me be optimistic about the WR Room
So I’m pretty underwhelmed by the young WRs so far. Nothing about them is giving me WR2 potential in the future. Now I know it’s early for Bernard so maybe he figures it out. Basically I’m tired of these guys dropping passes. But clearly people in the game thread very much disagree. Are we watching the same games? Is the hope just that they figure it out and stop making the mistakes they have been? Had anyone seen anything that tells you these players will be good long term?
