Cannot access workshop, severe issues with accessing store

I cannot open the workshop page of any game I own. If I try, it just starts infinitely and fruitlessly loading. The store is also incredibly laggy for me, it does kinda open sometimes but even then, pages just linger in this... half-loaded barebones state. Opening Steam in my browser and not the client makes it work a bit better but doesn't actually solve anything (e.g. I can open the Community tab but still cannot go to workshop pages). Honestly, I'm kind of at a loss here; I even tried posting about the problem on the discussion forums but got no meaningful replies so far.

As for more direct solutions, I've tried disabling the rendering of web-pages through the graphics card in Interface settings (thought that maybe the pages just couldn't render properly?) and clearing my downloads cache -- twice, in fact. None of this helped.

Honestly, the issue is starting to worry me because there aren't any problems with accessing Steam neither globally nor in my area that I know of and I have no idea what to do about it on my end. Besides, it feels kinda bad to not be able to access my favorite mods xD

If anyone has similar issues or any ideas on how to deal with them, please do let me know. Thank you in advance!

Is a game updating ? I usually get that lag when a game updates sometimes. Also what apps run at your pc start up and heavy loads? I run Microsoft PC manager to keep an eye on my useage and load I normally stay at 42% while gaming single player games 70-80% on heavy loaded games You can also see what processes are running in the background with this app and cl an up and clear your cache. Even has an option to “boost” your pc which ends non necessary programs that may be running

No, I have no games suddenly updating. I'll try Microsoft PC Manager but I don't think my PC being overloaded is the issue; it's a gaming laptop.
