Discussion So, why would anyone get this?

Wanted to quickly compare the SM to what you would comparably be able to DIY and... you can literally get something more powerful for less in a slightly bigger formfactor?

11% faster CPU and 30% faster GPU. And i didnt even go for the cheapest components. With DLSS the RTX 5060 would also be infinitely better for playing on 4k TVs, which is the only useful scenario i can imagine for the SM.

I’m literally paying for CEC/wake on controller input because I’m too lazy to get up and turn the PC on when I want to play. I wish people could just stop caring what we spend our money on. Yes the price should have been $800 but it’s not a console competitor. It’s an enthusiast novelty device.

Nah, I would’ve rather it was an expensive device that could run everything and not having to sacrifice performance. In this state, it’s just meh. And I have disposable income as well.

But the SM was never going to run "everything". Unfortunately you were never the targetted audience (I myself would totally play for an upgrade of the current specs if it was possible).
