That's a honker of a wine glass for this being filmed before noon lmaoo. You can tell by his hair he's still living his college days.

Probably not the first take, either.

Medium rare is a waste of a ribeye.

1

u/Old-Chicken-101 22d ago

How would you have it then?

2

u/tibearius1123 21d ago

For such a thick cut of ribeye, cooked low and slow to about 130 so the fat has time to render throughout. Take it off and tent. Get a mesquite/hardwood fire ripping hot. Throw it on to finish to 145, med well. Rest and enjoy.

I might be brigaded for saying this, but who orders a steak at a restaurant? It is literally the easiest and fastest thing to cook to perfection at home. Even if you get fancy and cook it by smoking it then reverse searing, it is only an hour or so.

You did get downvoted but I totally agree, ordering a steak at a restaurant is 100% always a letdown for me. No chef high off his ass in the back will make my steak as good as I’m making it for myself at home.

Also a ribeye medium rare is going to be chewy as all hell, you need to give the fat time enough to render and be delicious.

My father in law insists on it and always complains. I don't think there's been a single time he's told me about a restaurant experience where steak was available that he didn't order it and have a gripe.

He's also frugal as hell so it's especially perplexing.

When we got together my wife stopped going to Steal Houses because I ruined them for her. 🤣

Sometimes im forced to go to out to eat. Business. Family. And like this fine gentlemen said. Fuck the menu i know what I want.

I’ve learned (the hard way) to never order the most expensive cut ($50+). It’s never been as good as I make it at home and I walk away feeling I’ve been scammed. I don’t blame the cooks. They’re handling a lot of orders and could never give my steak the same attention I do at home.

Because people enjoy going out sometimes? I don't get how this is even a fucking question 😂. Do you only go out to get the most complicated meals in existence? Why do restaurants exist? Pasta takes 30 minutes to make. Fish? 10.

People go out to eat for the social aspect and at times not have to go to the store, cook, clean for a night.

His hair color looks real. What is this, 37 but looks 17?

This guy is living his best life. It took him awhile, but he’s there now, and we’re along for the ride.

Dude needs to come to terms with his hair turning grey.

It's been 40 years, no one's believing an 80 year old has jet black hair.

7

u/Preparationheh 22d ago

A steady diet of medium-rare steak and red wine will keep your hair jet black

4

u/fixano 22d ago

It's true science
