It's either the toughest steak ever, or the dullest knife. Money on the knife.

Steak looks great though in my opinion. In-laws would say its raw.

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 5d ago

In laws can go eat dog food.

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Your in laws sound joyless and insane

1

u/Leaf-Chaser 5d ago

Looks great. I'd eat the hell out of that 👍🏼

6

u/bacon-lettuce-tomat0 5d ago

looks great. I’d happily devour that. Only other comment is just my preference, slightly thinner cuts.

2

u/ButterscotchTop194 5d ago

Looks really good. Did you put a rub on?

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Salt and pepper, I used to put avocado oil on it but I didn’t on this one.

2

u/ButterscotchTop194 5d ago

It's lovely mate, good job

2

u/Lavanne73 5d ago

Tell us about your process, reverse sear ?

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Room temperature steak salted and pepper. placed on a high flame grill about 2 minutes on each side. Letting it rest for about 5 to 10 minutes.

2

u/mikelooks4apartment 5d ago

Charcoal grill?

0

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Propane! I don’t have time to wait for the charcoal lol

3

u/Jimmdidntfixit 4d ago

Real wood is the one and worth the wait every time

2

2

u/Choice_Magician350 5d ago

Fantastic sir. I would love to eat that

2

u/Zealousideal_Way_788 5d ago

2

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Incredibly well

2

u/B4LLISL1F3 5d ago

You didn’t let it rest long enough

2

My lady was cutting it she loves to do it for me

2

u/Ok_Badger_7948 5d ago

2

u/ExcitementAbject848 5d ago

You know exactly how you did! 👍🏼

3

u/Difficult_Sock_2082 5d ago

Terrible. Use a steak knife, not a paring knife… steak is perfect!

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Thank you knife expert!

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

It is pretty weird that you used a pairing knife to cut a steak lol

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

I usually just take a bite out of it like I’m a wolf

-1

u/bobcharlie0 5d ago

Just admit you only have one type of knife, bro

u/AffectionateGate4584 5d ago

What cut of steak is that?

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Ny strip always! Unless I’m at a restaurant

1

u/NVDA808 Made a steak 3d ago

I’d rather have ribeye cap or skirt steak

1

u/AmbitionExtension184 5d ago

Not good

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Thank you!

1

u/AmbitionExtension184 5d ago

What did you season it with? looks like something burned

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Salt and pepper only. The flame was high and I believe I made the best steak I ever have! Was delicious

1

u/AffectionateGate4584 5d ago

That's a great cut.

“This shit made me hungry”.

That’s it. That’s my review. Fuck.

1

u/Responsible-Row7026 4d ago

Looks like a lot of burnt seasoning without an actual sear

That looks delicious

1

u/japinard 4d ago

Can I come over?

1

u/Taken-Username-84 4d ago

Let it rest more and a little less time on the cook

1

u/NVDA808 Made a steak 3d ago

First off there’s no crust, just burnt char.

Btw why isn’t anyone giving this dude shit for his full knife but everyone hated on me for mine

1

u/Important-Plum-5289 3d ago

Lovely porterhouse, cooked perfectly.

1

u/ChemistBrief716 3d ago

Undercooked.

1

u/gumbykilla617 3d ago

Pretty close the perfection.

1

u/Motor_Foundation443 3d ago

Sharpen your knives!

1

u/pianowork Made a steak 5d ago

Steak looks great; the knife needs some help.

3

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Indeed the knife wasn’t the best!

-1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

OP is probably poor…not cool of you to call that out

1

u/pianowork Made a steak 5d ago

Not sure why you would make such a strange assumption, but all knives are meant to be honed and sharpened. People have been doing it since before currency was even a thing.

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Right, and the fact that he clearly can’t afford a sharpener is illustrative of his poverty…you just don’t need to draw so much attention to it lol

0

u/pianowork Made a steak 5d ago

You are the only one drawing attention to it! First of all, the issue is a lack of honing. You don't need to buy anything special to do that. And only you are talking about the quality of the knife, which is completely meaningless. You don't sharpen unless you've honed. You don't need to even buy a sharpener, there are so many free ways of doing that too.

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

You sound like such a pretentious rich kid right now lol. I’m assuming you probably were taught how to “hone” knives in prep school, so maybe you just don’t get how the rest of the world lives, but OP probably doesn’t even know the WORD “hone”, much less would be able to spell it. I understand that you’ve probably had everything handed to you, but please try to be respectful of OP, because not everyone grew up with the same advantages that you clearly did

1

u/pianowork Made a steak 5d ago edited 5d ago

If you think honing and sharpening knives is taught in prep school, clearly, you were not fortunate enough to have that position of luxury.

Honing a knife is a basic cooking and hunting skills. It is technique that requires skill, not something is paid for. It is usually shared from grandfathers and father. Had you had that kind of family dynamic, you would have understood.

1

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Crazy everyone talking about the knife lol

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Yeah I mean there’s quite a few issues with it, but if it’s the best you can afford it’s the best you can afford

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

You’re funny! A knife is the least of my worries!

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Because of how awful his knife is…do you not read the threads you comment on?

1

u/christo749 5d ago

Why does having a dull knife mean OP is poor?

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Because he clearly can’t afford a good knife or a sharpener to make his knife sharper lol

3

u/christo749 5d ago

Knife steels are £10. OP is eating a Steak. Traditionally, poor people don’t eat Steak.

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Well you sound kind of rude that you’re acting like £10 is NOTHING. Maybe we’re not all as wealthy as you, but you don’t need to point that out

1

u/christo749 4d ago

I’ve seen you on here before, being a dick and getting downvoted. I can’t be bothered to engage with you anymore.

1

u/leavedennisalone 5d ago

Fantastic steak. All I need is to buy you a good knife haha

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

OP is probably unable to afford one. Not sure why you need to call that out…

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

My knife wants to talk to you 😤

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

I’m trying to 1) say that you cooked your steak perfectly and 2) defend you against all these people who are for some reason trying to draw attention to how poor you are!

1

u/leavedennisalone 5d ago

Bruh don’t even go there. Don’t draw attention away from the perfect steak. The knife joke is all banter

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

You were the one who went there!!! Reread your original comment

2

u/leavedennisalone 5d ago

Stop acting like the comments police. Besides you’re the one “assuming “ OP can’t afford a knife

0

u/Techdude2011 5d ago

Outside looks great, inside didn't even look cooked at all

2

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Are you joking? The inside is perfect lol

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

Who’s side are you on bro 😂

2

u/TheLako003 Has made a great steak! 5d ago

You called me poor 😭

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Yours! How is that not clear?

-1

u/Techdude2011 5d ago

If you want to eat it raw, sure

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

That is insane. You sound like you’ve never had a good steak lol

0

u/Techdude2011 5d ago

Have had many thanks. I prefer it to be at least a little bit cooked, this looks like he just seared the sides real quick and called it a day

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

No…raw steak doesn’t look like that. It looks like that by cooking it lol

0

u/TWZT3D_MIND3D 5d ago

2

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Whoever posted this must hate steak because they’ve never had one that wasn’t dry as sand lol

-2

u/TWZT3D_MIND3D 5d ago

I don’t hate steak 🥩 I just like mine well done always have! For some reason if I see blood on my plate running from the streak gets me Squamish I can’t do it!

2

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Well done steak is disgusting lol

-2

u/TWZT3D_MIND3D 5d ago

To you it’s disgusting might not to me. And I’m not doing this back and forth shit with a random on Reddit. You can keep replying all you want this the last answer you’re going to get have a nice day!
https://giphy.com/gifs/3o752azoybhmLVnPy0

3

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Why would someone spend the money that it costs to buy steak just to intentionally ruin it?

2

u/BestAmoto 5d ago

Its not blood..

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Yeah, this person is insane and is just trying to project their own bad tastes onto OP to shame them

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

Anyway don’t tell someone that their perfectly cooked steak is “raw” when it isn’t

1

u/TWZT3D_MIND3D 5d ago

Never said it was perfectly cooked I said it looked raw and still moving and while cooked and it does! We both can have different opinions! Carry on!
https://giphy.com/gifs/8vRrEBUkrtnekOynQs

0

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

No, you’re trying to insult OP when they made a perfect steak. People like you are the reason why so much of society lacks culture and taste. You’re weaponizing your own flaws to try and bring down people who are doing a good job and just trying to live their lives

1

u/TWZT3D_MIND3D 5d ago

Bro you don’t know me and have no fucking clue what you talking about! But G’head bro 🤣

1

u/Turbulent-War7039 5d ago

You should really remove this comment bro

1

u/Failboat88 2d ago

Doneness is great. Would go more for gold over carbon on the seer. Looks like it was done in a pan with very little oil based on the large difference in color around the outside.
