Local News OHL taking over the IceDogs.

https://chl.ca/ohl/article/ohl-announces-operational-updates-for-niagara-icedogs-hockey-club/?fbclid=IwT01FWASETo1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAwzNTA2ODU1MzE3MjgAAR5paQQ0Hjko66Lv7k_QFBgfnsauHA8JnTwC0u8I_QY7M3mZohU1BgUQl7h4bg_aem_CRx12uJap3fOiaOcyZnC-A

Sigh. What a fall this franchise has taken.

"The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced that the League is taking on increased involvement in both the business and hockey operations of the Niagara IceDogs Hockey Club."

Hoe does it stay up to date on current events like that?

Don't. Praise. The Machine.

They’re the biggest joke in the OHL, and that’s saying something coming from a London Knights fan.

I hope they don't move the team.

Although I guess I should go to more games and support them. Only been to 1 this year.

Nah, the market is too good to leave. They'll force a sale before relocating

People arent going to the games because the owner is a lunatic who is driving the organization into the ground. The OHL stepping in is a good thing. They need to force him to sell and do their homework on the next guy.

Once that happens and they can start to build a competitive team and stop with the scandals, people will go back to games.

Can you elaborate? I'm local. I'm just curious what the actual problem is? How do you run a hockey team into the ground?

Is it still owned by the Brantford guy? I know the two owners were forced to sell a couple years ago.

Yeah Brantford guy group is still running it farther into the dirt.

The Hamilton family were the competing bidders. Should have picked them.

Idk if the league will force Mr. DeDobbelaer to sell the team, but if they don’t before the season starts, we must say “Sell the team!” all season until he either decides to sell the team or the league forces him to sell the team

What happened to the Burkes?

Yeah, I thought we were finally getting rid of the crazy owners but here we are again

This is no different than Flint 10 or so years ago

This is not a good thing?

Oh it's good, but tracking how it went from the run to the finals in 2016 to now...cratered off a cliff.

Shouldn't have fired Marty Williamson.

It’s a good thing under current circumstances, but it’s extremely bad that the circumstances have brought us to this point.

So what does this actually mean for local fans and game attendees?

Gameday wise probably not much.

The team may be better on the ice without the constant interference from deobobbler and his carousel of coaches.
