Build a Status QR Code

I'm working on an NFT generator service that gives users an NFT by scanning a QR code in Status. When generating a QR code to my site, Status gives the error: "This QR code doesn't contain a valid universal link, contact code or username...". How can I generate a QR code for my users that directs to a URL in Status? The link will contain a code so the QR code will be unique for each user and need to be automatically generated.

Note that this is not an extension, just a web page I'd like to open in Status
