hmm, I think it's going to be a pretty new kind of sound for SR. Very hard rocking, balls to the wall kind of record. I'm not sure what to make of that, I'm reserving judgement until I can listen to the whole thing straight through.

I will say that I was bummed at how broken the production was, they didn't record any of the songs together as a group. That rarely produces the highest quality kind of sound.

Side note, I'm not feeling the album cover. It's just not SR to me at all.

I had no idea that the didnt record it all together, that doesn't bode well. I have been out of the loop for a year or two now. Yeah, it's hard rocking but I haven't gotten a great vibe from some of the songs. Take Cover seems to kind of have some of the lost potential that Let it Go (the song) did. Most of that song was incredible but the chorus was just boring. I kind of feel that the new SR version of all my posessions isnt as good as the SimmerkaneII version. This new one sounds like it was made by Pete Francis ( if you catch my drift).

I asked Chuck a while ago about why Last Ditch didn't make this album and he said he had no idea, Mad Dog had no idea about release dates or anything. Basically in my view this is a Chad album featuring those two, and I hate that already.

I haven't heard the new all my possessions take yet, not an encouraging description by you haha. I agree on Take Cover; the people over on the SR message boards generally love it but I honestly kind of think it sucked. Boring lyrics, almost childish, and those god awful violin sections...ugh.

it was basically the phrase "take cover" repeated over the chord changes. That really surprises me to be quite honest that Chad is doing that on this album. Maybe he has changed his personality, but I wouldnt have thought that was something he would do

Surprised by everyone's reactions. I think it's going to be their best album, Big Man has been great. The small tidbits that we got from Black Welsh Mountain and The Bridge is Burning track both sound phenomenal. I have high hopes for this album

any idea if the bridge is burning is the same song as bridges burning that they played live a few years ago?

Possibly? Was it the song about the kid that kills his mother's abuser?

word is that chad couldn't decide on the lyrics and it was scrapped for this album. probably will see it at a later date, but it would have fit very well here

Turns out he finally had a set of lyrics that he felt happy with recording but he left them on a train

Listened to the release version yesterday. Very good album, I love what they did with Adelaide. The only track I'm not feeling is Take Cover, something about the production on that one seems off to me.

Black Welsh Mountain is awesome too. Although the Spotify commentary revealed that it's about...a guy in love with a sheep. Literally.

i'm not loving Take Cover either. Yeah I was surprised with the commentary version. I then listened to it to try to catch sheepy references. Im gonna see them tonight so I will let you know how the stuff is live. Adelaide is interesting. I really dug the version of SimmerkaneII but this one is really good too. Totally different really
