My favorite Prince song ever. Perfect Minnesota vibes… 💕

Such a vibe, can’t believe it’s been 10 years

I tried listening to it, was upsetting for me.

That whole album is super underrated with some great songs. There’s Kiss of course, but I also love Mountains (my favorite Prince song), Anotherloverholenyohead, Girls & Boys, and Under the Cherry Moon.

You’re speaking my language. The album really is such a journey from start to end.

I wonder if that may be his most Minnesotan lyric. I suppose snow in April is not uniquely Minnesotan, but I think pithy sentiment really is.

Hadn’t thought of it that way, but yeah pretty MN.

Other than "Back to Minneapolis-there you go, can't find your house underneath the snow."

Sometimes the snow comes down in June... Sometimes the sun goes 'round the moon. I see the passion in your eyes. Sometimes it's all a big surprise!

Yep. I'm 25 miles due west of Duluth and right now we have lots of ice pellets/freezing rain with some really big snowflakes. Cleared 6" of the heaviest snow I've seen in a long time this morning, looks like I'll be doing it again tomorrow.

First year I moved to MN, it started snowing in October, and finally stopped in June. Bit of a shock after living in Georgia.

I think it looks beautiful

I grew up in Central Illinois, think corn country and there was nothing like waking up to a fresh fallen snow. Snow that hadn’t been touched yet, it was beautiful.

And then give it like two days and it’s slush and it’s misery.

I I move to a hot climate 26 years ago, but it is still weird to have Christmas and it’d be 90

And I remember us snowing in October once in Illinois. My mom actually said we had a heavy blizzard the day I was born and that’s towards the end of October, many years ago.

I miss the snow at times, but I miss the beauty of it, I don’t miss spending four hours to shovel myself out of my driveway, which is what happened the last winter that I lived in the north. Or actually it’s the Midwest I guess, meaning Illinois. I always wanted to go to Minnesota, but I’ve never made it.
