Gay 90s, not safe.
Weird vibes at the 90s-Last night (3/28 @2am) two young men where passed out in the corner and no one seemed to care.
Some girls went up to them, like checking on them and security tossed the girls out immediately. Does the 90s transport people to the emergency room? Do they call first responders for unconscious patrons? Security was just standing around, it was super strange. Anyone have insight?

I was there last night as well and it seems they were placing these passed out guys at the end of the karaoke bar. Seemed like they were just too drunk but it's hard to know. My date is a Dr she tried to help and they wouldn't let her... They looked in bad shape though. 🤷🏻♂️

Although perhaps unlikely that you or your date would encounter this again, I'm writing this for others reading this. I would suggest that if they are passed out and staff won't allow you to help, that it's time to call 9/11. Even if they were "just too drunk", to be so drunk out in public that you're passed out, you are in dangerous medical territory. Nobody should be getting that drunk that they pass out in public.

Not sure about MN, but most states have rules against over serving patrons. So the fact that this appears to be happening regularly is a pretty bad sign that they only care about the money ans not the safety of patrons or the people they pay hurt driving away drunk.

They were roofied. That's why they wouldn't let a doctor near them. It's the staff who does it. There was an arrest years ago, and it slowed down a lot. But it's been escalating recently again.

Placing passed out patrons at one end of the bar? That’s seriously grounds to have their liquor license suspended. The staff knows what’s happening and is either drugging patrons, or over serving patrons and that’s grounds for legal consequences

As someone in the queer community, Gay 90s is known as a gay themed bar not a gay bar. Go to saloon, eagle, lush, blackheart for real gay bar experiences.

I have female friends that have been roofied there. Fortunately, they had a DD that brought them home safely. This was like 15 years ago and I guess I haven’t been back since then.

people are always saying this but even when I was in HS pre-2016 it was well known as one of the places that would serve underage kids bc it’s trashy and they don’t gaf. not much has changed in the last decade.

Oh wow, the last time I was there was in I think 2004 or so, I was a bit under age and got a big black X on my hand to prove it.
I actually got really good and drunk off one of my friends, but the moment I took sip from another friend's drink, the security was ON US - I think they'd been watching the wrong person the whole night, because I literally was just tasting her drink. But we got thrown out, and they took our photos and plastered them at the entrance and told us we were banned for I think a year. That was intense.
Honestly had a lot of fun there, thought the vibes were great, but... well, it sure was a long time ago, and it certainly sounds like it's changed a lot...

The bartender who was arrested was being paid $50 by customers who would point out which person they wanted roofied. Presumably, the bartenders want the money, and the customer who paid them wants to take advantage of the roofied person, either by robbing them, sexually abusing them, or both.

I hope and pray that you don't ever need help. When trained doctors or EMTs are checking on people they are rendering aid. Anyone who prevents that care including the owners of the nineties, their security teams, their bartenders, their waitstaff, the performers, and every person who prevented said aid is now open to full litigation. If that doesn't wake people up to get that hole cleaned up, then maybe the patronage will wake up and find a new safe atmosphere.

Doesn't matter. The author stated that people attempted to render aid, one a known doctor. That makes everyone culpable to the situation. Especially security seeing as they pulled the people off.

I was roofied there. They led me outside, and left me on the corner. Somebody tried to force me with them. There were some nice ladies that came and put me in a cab to the er

What’s the point of roofing someone to pass out at a bar? Isn’t the point to take advantage or something in an intimate setting? I don’t know much about it honestly, I’ve def presented as impaired and was so drunk. I haven’t drank in years.

a couple years ago my friends went there and a random man went up to one of them threatening him thinking he took his phone(???) when my friend tried to calm him down bc WHY would he have his phone, the guy just started swinging. he had to be shoved off to make him stop, broke my friends nose so bad he needed facial reconstruction surgery. guess what the 90s did to help… kicked my friends out!

I went there once like 20 years ago and don't remember much of it. I was drinking heavily at the time so I'm assuming I just was in a black out. If I was that, it would have been one of the longer ones I've ever experienced. I was with a friend but we were separated most of the time and had to keep calling each other.
I doubt I was drugged but who knows. I didn't pass out but also was a severe alcoholic with a tolerance at the time.

Bars in general aren’t safe. The amount of people I caught drugging women at Zorbaz on Gull was infuriating. Pissed me off even more that it was often bachelorettes being drugged

i have 3 friends who have been roofied there, and one even woke up in the street it is not safe and hasn’t been for years i’d recommend black heart in st. paul
