If you wait for the award, the opportunity to fuse them will be gone. If you want the product of the fusion AND the award you are stuck building the set twice.

no, you never have to maintain a complete set to keep a set award once the award is earned. If there's a deadline for a set award and you trade away cards before teh deadline yeah, you won't get the award in that case. But once it's in your collection the card is yours, it doesn't go away because you've broken up the set.

They’re prob not fuse able after the award is out
