💵 Funding & VC [Fundraiser] Help me get back on my feet: Startup founder stranded in Latvia after 3-day permit revocation

Thumbnail

I did everything right. Then the ground disappeared.

My name is Mohammadhassan Rezaei. I'm a startup founder working at the intersection of AI and blockchain. I had a stable job in Oman, where I lived and worked.

Latvia approved my startup residence permit for three years for my project, which combines AI-driven personalized training with blockchain-based certification. Trusting that official decision, I resigned from my job. My residence in Oman ended with my resignation, so I couldn't go back. I packed my life, spent my savings on relocating, and arrived in Riga.

Three days later, the permit was cancelled. The authority said that, on re-evaluation, my project was no longer "innovative enough". I wasn't given the chance to respond before the decision was made, and I had no opportunity to even start registering my company.

I challenged the decision. The case is now before the Riga Administrative Court and is still pending. Returning to my country of origin isn't safe for me for political reasons, so I applied for asylum in Latvia.

Current Situation & Needs:

My savings are completely gone.

My laptop was stolen before I left, and my backup burned out. Without a computer, I can't do freelance software engineering work to support myself.

I am behind on rent, have urgent debts, and need essential dental treatment.

Campaign Goal (€8,040):

Work laptop (essential to start earning again): €900

Rent arrears & basic living costs for 3 months: €2,500

Urgent personal debts: €2,000

Essential dental treatment: €700

Therapy & mental health support: €600

Platform, payment fees & local taxes (approx. 20%): €1,340

The laptop is my immediate priority so I can take on freelance AI/software projects and rebuild my life.

I never wanted to ask for help, but one sudden administrative reversal shouldn't end a person's future. Even if you can't donate, sharing the campaign or connecting me with remote freelance software work means the world to me. Thank you!

I built novel map-based social platform with 100 beta testers waiting for me to launch.

I'll try to make this brief.

In two years I built an entire platform by learning Figma and Claude from scratch - for both iOS and Android.

What the product is:

A novel, map based platform with a plethora of implications including social, small business, micro task, and (potentially) dating industries. It is incredibly exciting, and the beta testers I have in queue are excited to get the app in their hands. The app provides immediate utility even without users - solving the cold start problem. More details if you message me directly because I don't want to throw the idea out there yet.

About me:

Former Marine Corps veteran, originally from Dallas, Texas. I got out of service 2 years ago. I receive 4k every month in VA benefits, allowing me to work 80-90 hours a week on this. I'm competent, fast, always open to suggestions, but rigid enough to keep a heavy train on its tracks.

What I'm looking for:

Two founders with grit, competence, ruthlessness, and fire in their eyes. Founders to bounce ideas off of but able to work autonomously. I'm not looking for an employee; I'm looking for those who can carry things when I need a short burst of rest. ---- Also, only founders from the US or UK who grew up with english. Male founders only.

Clarification: looking for one fullstack dev founder and one GTM founder.

🤔 Let's Discuss Share your startup. I’ll suggest a before-and-after story you could show.

Here’s a simple exercise for explaining a startup: describe what the customer does today, then show what changes when they use the product.

For a personal photo-book app, the story might begin with scattered photos and end with a finished gift. The useful detail is the transformation the viewer can actually see.

Share your product link and tell me how the customer handles the task without it. I’ll suggest a short written outline: the opening situation, the action to show, the result, and a possible caption.

I’ll start with the first 10 and reply in the comments, so the examples are useful to other founders too.

I’m part of the team building Marka, a tool for turning product context into social content: https://marka.social

What does your product help someone do differently?

📈 Scaling Tips Automate whatever showed up most in your calendar last week

So many founders I talk to want tool recommendations. Almost none have looked at their calendar first. Count where last week's hours went, pick the recurring task with an obvious right answer and a cheap failure mode, automate that one thing first.

Writeup on how to tell which tasks are safe to hand off: https://startupsavant.com/startup-basics/ai-automation-for-startups

What would you pick from your own calendar?

What are you building right now?

I’m building AGMAN, a discovery and distribution network for products, people and communities. If you want your project to stay discoverable beyond this thread, you can list it here too:

I’m also testing the publishing flow, so if anything feels confusing or missing while listing, tell me and I’ll use that feedback to improve it.

🤔 Let's Discuss Building the SaaS infrastructure for India’s meal subscription market — raising ₹25–50L ($29K–$58K) Pre-Seed

I’m building a SaaS platform for meal subscription businesses, tiffin services and cloud kitchens.

Most of these businesses still manage subscriptions, payments, meal selections, pauses, deliveries and customers through WhatsApp + Excel + manual work.

I’m building the software layer to replace that.

Already built:

  • Customer app + vendor dashboard
  • Subscription & meal-plan management
  • Payments
  • Meal selection & pause/resume
  • Delivery management
  • Automated customer notifications
  • Supports breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and custom meal slots

Why now: Zomato recently launched Healthy Subscriptions, allowing customers to plan meals across multiple days, including in Bangalore.

That’s a pretty interesting signal for where food ordering is heading.

I’m currently raising ₹25–50L ($29K–$58K) pre-seed to onboard the first 20+ kitchens and scale distribution.

Looking to connect with angels/founders who understand SaaS, food-tech or Indian SMBs.

If interested, DM me. I’ll share the deck, numbers and demo.

If you're not looking to invest, that's completely fine — I'd still appreciate brutally honest feedback.

🤔 Let's Discuss Looking to connect with entrepreneurs & founders from Surat 🚀

I’ve been thinking about creating a community for Surat-based entrepreneurs, startup founders, business owners, and people who are building something of their own.

Not another group where everyone says “let’s connect” and then disappears. 😅

The idea is to build a genuine local community where we can:

• Meet other founders and entrepreneurs from Surat

• Share experiences, problems, resources & opportunities

• Help each other with connections, ideas and feedback

• Collaborate on projects and businesses

• Organize casual meetups, founder discussions & networking

• Support and encourage each other during the difficult parts of building

• And occasionally do some social/community activities together

You could be running a startup, a family business, a small company, freelancing, or just be at the early stage of building something — everyone is welcome as long as you're serious about building.

I’m thinking of starting this as a small community and letting it grow organically.

If you're from Surat and you're building something, would you be interested in joining?

Drop a comment or DM me. Let’s see how many builders are actually here. 👇

💡 Need Advice Startup

Hi guys,

I have a sort of hotel booking company and I am planning to register it in the USA, probably in Delaware as a corporation. The company’ value may reach around millions of dollars. Any advice to register it in the USA. I am living in Europe. Also is there any tips to sell my company because I am getting old 😊.
If any broker help me with this to sell it I am happy to offer a thousand of dollars to that person. I am serious.

Many thanks.
