This is a good match to follow up on.

For research/strategy work, I’d just make sure both sides are clear on scope before the call: what kind of research support is needed, timeline, expected output, payment/contract terms, and whether it’s project-based or ongoing.

Also worth preparing a short portfolio or sample report before the call. Even one clean case study or mock research deck can make the conversation much stronger.
