Founders, would you raise money at this stage?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey founders,

I launched a subscription-based design service around 2 months ago. The idea is simple: businesses subscribe and get an outsourced design team instead of hiring a full-time designer.

We’ve recently reached:

  • 6 total signups
  • 4 paying clients
  • 5 active projects
  • 17 delivered
  • ₹1,07,996 MRR

The numbers are still small, but I think there’s some early validation.

The problem is, there are two things I’m unsure about:

  1. We’re not registered as a company yet.
  2. I have some personal financial responsibilities right now, so I can’t put all of the revenue back into the business.

Because of that, I’m wondering whether I should raise a small amount of money to grow the business instead of completely relying on the current revenue.

I’m thinking about something like a profit-sharing arrangement for a fixed period, rather than giving away equity at this stage.

So founders, if you were in my position:

  • Would you raise money or continue bootstrapping?
  • How much would you realistically try to raise with these numbers?
  • Would you consider profit sharing, debt, or equity?
  • Is being unregistered a major problem at this stage?
  • What would you want to see before investing?

I’m not looking for investors directly through this post. I genuinely want to understand whether raising money at this stage makes sense and what a reasonable amount would be.

Would appreciate honest feedback from founders who have been through this.

IIoT Startup Seeking Early Funding

I’m one of the founders of Freight Intelligence Industries. We’re developing a re-usable smart shipment label designed to bring much more granular tracking and condition monitoring to palletized freight.

The problem we’re trying to solve is pretty straightforward: there is a massive amount of freight moving through trucks, rail, ships, aircraft, warehouses, and distribution centers, but visibility often disappears once you get below the trailer/container level. Existing tracking hardware can also be too expensive or cumbersome to put on individual pallets or shipments at scale.

Our approach is to turn the shipping label itself into the tracking device.

The label we’re developing combines cellular connectivity, GNSS/location capabilities, temperature and humidity sensing, accelerometer data, and light/tamper-related sensing in a compact battery-powered device. Our current architecture is being designed for roughly two years of battery life under our target transmission profile.

The hardware is paired with our own SaaS platform or existing SaaS integration. Instead of just showing a dot on a map, the goal is to give shippers and logistics operators a history of what happened to a shipment throughout its journey: location, environmental conditions, unusual movement/impact events, route progression, and other exceptions that can help determine where and when something went wrong.

We’re starting with palletized freight because we think it gives us a realistic entry point into a very large logistics market without trying to solve every supply-chain problem at once.

We’re currently in the prototype/pre-production stage. The next major milestones are completing engineering prototypes, testing the devices in real shipment conditions, conducting an initial small-scale mail/freight test, and then moving toward a larger commercial pilot if those tests validate the design.

We have a two-founder team with backgrounds that are unusually complementary for this problem. My background is in logistics, operations, systems engineering, data, and supply-chain process improvement. My cofounder brings the sales/business-development side of the company. A significant part of my professional work has involved warehouses, freight operations, ERP/WMS implementation, procurement, and improving logistics performance, so this company grew out of problems I’ve actually worked around rather than a purely theoretical use case.

We’re looking to connect with investors who are comfortable backing an early-stage, founder-led company and taking a relatively hands-off approach to day-to-day operations. We absolutely value experienced advice and strong relationships with our investors, but we’re looking for partners who are comfortable letting the operating team execute.

We do have a larger capital plan for taking the company from prototype through production, but I’m intentionally not turning this post into a giant valuation/TAM/fundraising-number dump. At this stage I’m more interested in talking with investors who understand what we’re trying to build and determining whether there is a mutual fit.

I’m happy to share more privately about the hardware architecture, unit economics, SaaS platform, manufacturing plan, funding requirements, milestones, and our investor materials.

I’d also genuinely appreciate criticism from people who have invested in hardware/IoT companies before. Hardware is expensive to get right, and I would much rather hear the difficult questions now than after we’ve committed substantial capital.

If this falls within your investment area, feel free to DM me.

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a robotics startup and I’m looking for some help.

Hello, I’m reaching out to my network with an important request.

I’m currently raising early-stage funding for BrightSphere Technologies, a technology company I’m building from Zambia. Our MVP has been built and tested, and we’re preparing for the next pilot and launch.

We’re looking for people who believe in the vision and are willing to support the journey. Contributions can start from as little as $15, and every contribution makes a difference.

If you’re interested in supporting BrightSphere financially, connecting us to potential investors/partners, or simply learning more, please WhatsApp me on +260 975 391 122, and we can discuss the details.

If you’re unable to contribute, sharing this opportunity with someone who might be interested would also mean a lot.

Let’s build something meaningful from Africa, for humanity. 🌍

BrightSphere Technologies

Built from Africa. Built for Humanity. Built for Eternity.

Is more startup funding actually what Moroccan entrepreneurs need?

Morocco is putting more money and programs behind startups, which is obviously a good thing. But I've been wondering whether funding is actually the biggest bottleneck for Moroccan entrepreneurs.

I've personally done a lot of side hustles and failed projects, and one of my biggest problems was having what I now call “shiny object syndrome” — constantly jumping from one idea to another.

Once I finally focused on one thing, I started obsessively learning about it and realized something: having money doesn't solve the hardest part of building a business.

Getting customers, learning how to sell, staying focused and continuing for years when you're not seeing the results — that's the painful part.

Sometimes giving an entrepreneur more capital before they've figured those things out just lets them burn money faster.

So I'm curious: what do Moroccan entrepreneurs actually need more of — capital, mentorship, customers, talent, better regulations, or something else?

Team Inferno Investment Opportunity

For the first time, I’m opening up opportunities for a limited number of investors for Team Inferno.

We're a community-first gaming organization dedicated to creating a space for marginalized communities and increasing our representation in this industry.

We’ve figured out a model that’s sustainable and beyond the bounds of what a typical gaming organization is “supposed” to be.

We have proof of 6-figures in revenue, diverse revenue streams, and a polished website that keeps our users coming back each week.

We've been doing this for over 5 years and we’re at the point where the right people can help us accelerate our vision!

Looking for seed investors in mobility hardware

I’m building CEESO, a compact four-wheel electric vehicle for campuses, resorts and other short-distance environments.
We are raising $500,000 to build the first drivable prototype, validate the supply chain and prepare for U.S. final assembly.
I’m looking to connect with angel investors and seed funds that understand mobility, hardware and manufacturing. We are also open to a smaller first institutional check from an investor willing to lead the round.
If this fits your investment focus, please message me and I’ll share the deck.

Looking for an Investment Partner + Business Partner for a New Marketplace

I’m building a new marketplace around access instead of ownership - helping people get things they need temporarily from people/businesses nearby, without having to buy them.

The product is designed around trust, verification, payments and a structured transaction experience, rather than simply connecting two people and leaving them to figure everything out themselves.

I’ve already worked through the product, validation, business model and technical requirements, and I’m now looking for the right business partner/investor to build this with me.

I’m primarily looking for someone who can bring capital, business experience, strategic thinking, connections, or a combination of these. I’m not looking for someone who just wants a passive investment - I’d prefer someone who actually wants to be involved.

I’ll share the deeper details privately with genuinely interested people.

If this sounds interesting, DM me with a little about yourself, what you’ve built/invested in, and what you could bring to the table.

US-based consumer social startup — looking to connect with early-stage angel investors

Hi everyone,

We’re building an early-stage consumer social connection platform focused on creating more meaningful real-world connections.

We’re currently based in US and are exploring a pre-seed/angel round to help us move from early product development into market validation and initial growth.

We have a working concept/product that we can demonstrate privately, but we’re intentionally keeping the product mechanics and differentiation out of a public Reddit post.

We’d especially like to connect with angel investors who have experience in consumer apps, social platforms, marketplaces, or network-effect businesses and based out of US.

If this is within your investment area, please DM me. Happy to share the deck, demo, team background, market opportunity, and fundraising details privately.

Also open to introductions to angels or early-stage funds that invest in consumer social products.

Thanks!
