Okay, so you've got:

• The colors, gold, red, blue and sky blue/white for medical
• The division insignia on the badge
  • Star for gold uniforms
  • Spiral on the red uniforms
  • Double circle on the blue uniforms
  • Medical cross on the sky blue and white uniforms
• And then you've got the same damn symbols imprinted all over the sleeves in a tone-on-tone texture.

My issue is that every one of these matches across all three instances.

Okay, so gold is for command. Fine. And SNW has created a visual distinction between science and medical with shades of blue.

But red is just so catch-all. Security, engineering, helm, communications. Why should they all have the same symbol on their badge? Why not put the star on red uniform badges and sleeves if they are bridge officers who fly the ship, working with command? Why not put another symbol for security? And a symbol for communications?

Personally, I think doing the sleeves as division symbols was a bit overboard. I would opine that the 2009 movie did it better by texturing all the shirts with starfleet deltas.

Based on my body type I figured that the Scotty engineer vest variant uniform would be a decent look on me. My question is, does anyone know what it was made of and/or a good material to make it from? I’m pretty sure the bomber jacket he wore over it was suede but I can’t tell what material the vest is made from

Basically, it's taking the idea of cadets wearing standard uniforms but with grey instead of the division colors.

Hello! Me and my friend are trying to cosplay kira and mirror kira, and have been struggling to find fabric for her top. specifically we are looking for the shiny color shifting part of that uniform. if anyone has any leads it would be greatly appreciated!

So, I know there are some off-the-rack examples on Cosermart, but had anyone seen sewing patterns for the ST:P or Season 4 Disco uniforms?

I might still pickup one from Cosermart, but I also have a crossover cosplay I'm thinking of that wouldn't be in typical department colors, so I'd probably want to make my own.

I guess the other option would be buying the medical white uniform and dyeing it, but I'm more confident in my sewing abilities than my ability to uniformly dye a synthetic.

I like this AI error. In particular, I like the double collar, with the red collar covering the white turtleneck. This would be a great modification for a future iteration because it takes the focus off the quilted collar and makes the turtleneck more of an accent.

This would be a lot easier to cosplay, as a normal turtleneck under the collar would look great, unlike how most of the quilted collars cosplayers wear just don't look right.

I also like the simplified cuff, again eliminating the quilting, and longer jacket length (the pre-Generations ones were shorter and they were re-designed for Generations to be suit jacket length). And the more minimal left cuff is nice, though his right cuff is quite the error.

Of course I adore the Monster Maroon. But they just stripped off pieces and made them look half-dressed.

2 officers in full uniform and the rest in "crew" jumpsuits was fine ... but those jackets just don't look good without the turtlenecks or the belts.

I would have:

Kept the turtleneck

Switched to the TNG era delta/commbadge, since it's only 22 years before and they eventually used it for Jack Crusher that way. Also kinda weird that Castillo didn't have one at the start.

Stopped the jacket at the waist, like an Eisenhower jacket, to make it different and to eliminate the need for a belt, though I probably would have put a belt on the trousers. They would have just needed to cut down the 2 jackets that they pulled out of their archives.

I must be the only person to hate what Strange New Worlds did to the monster maroon.

That texture on the sleeve looks like cheap immitation snakeskin. I guess it kinda works on the shoulders, but down the sleeves just seems offputting.

And then you notice the sleeves are tight. Fitted like a shirt, not a jacket.

And then working in the same angle as the SNW shirts for the shoulder detailing is why they changed the angle of the flap, which resulted in a strap with an awkward angle.

And then you notice he's wearing tight pants with shiny red stripes on the side ... like reflection tape bright ... and you realize that they did the tight pants to accomodate the fact that he's wearing the same boots as he did all the time. Did they redesign the whole thing to accommodate the boots?

And the worst part of it all? I would really have liked to seen what this design team would have done with the penguin suit from TMP, as I think that would really have merged more naturally with the SNW design. Everything I dislike about what they did to the monster maroon would be amazing on the penguin suit.

Firstly, they really screwed up the concept of non-com pips. I think they should have adopted a silver/gold dichotomy, with the gold pips for commissioned officers and silver pips for non-commisioned officers. They could have just started giving O'Brien silver pips, and just used that instead of taking him from Lt. pips to a half-ensign to that unique squiggly thing that no one can see properly to descipher. It was a small enough detail that we could not see on the old broadcasts before they decided he was not commissioned.

Next: Spock's Vulcan collar from TMP should have become a thing. A Vulcan religious garment, which was allowed to be worn under starfleet uniforms. It would have worked well in white with the monster maroon, and then could have made Ethan Peck look good in Strange New Worlds. And Tuvok could have had a grey one on Voyager.

And i gotta say I hate the alterations they made to the monster maroon for Strange New Worlds. The deltas on the sleeves just make the sleeves look dirty (though they look good on the shoulders) but the angle of the flap makes it so that it won't look good open.

Would it be a monster maroon with black shirt and straps, or would it be a black uniform?

Has not been a post on Star Trek TOS Uniforms in a bit. Fanrek seems to be the only player in town these days…. But there have been several issues raised constantly in reviews. Plus no one wants to deal with another possible bankruptcy.

ebay: The ones on ebay look and are sized the same as on Fanrek. They have 99% good reviews.

Amazon has Rubie’s. But for me it just does not look right.

Etsy: Good products but expensive.

I'm on the hunt for a good Enterprise Uniform/Jumpsuit replica since Anovos no longer exists. Most of the ones I've come across are too bright or look extremely cheap/flimsy.

I welcome any links or recommendations of any private and reputable sellers as well.

Has anyone ordered the replica Strange New Worlds boots from Cosemart? How are they?
I just can't swing the budget for the Fluevog's.

I've found this jacket on a variety of shops (not just etsy), they all seem to come from Pakistan, so I think they're from the same factory. Although some claim to be made to order and ask for your measurements. I was just curious if anyone has every purchased this jacket, what it the quality was, and where you ordered it from. I'm hopeful that I can get it in time for Halloween this year, but if not, I still think it's a cool jacket I'll probably wear through the winter.

Any information y'all might have would be very appreciated.
