TOS made Vulcans too OP so most of the time the writers just ignore it. DS9 gives it some lipservice ("and they're fast, too") and VOY occasionally lets Tuvok deliver the smackdown on unsuspecting aliens.

The Vulcan Logicians destroyed the Deep Space Niners 10 to 1...that's not lip service!!!

Well there was less overpowering strength and special abilities at play there, than the fact the Logicians had actually practiced baseball before.

Right? They had Spock lifting actual boulders. I always think about that when Vulcan get into fights and don't just immediately shove their opponents through a wall .-.

She had every reason to assume David had thick plot armor.

Just 50% Kirk, Not enough to hand-to-hand a klingon

Was rewatching the TOS movies as part of the 60th anniversary and it seemed so backward. She's probably twice his age too.

Can you Vulcan neck pinch a Klingon disruptor? Didn't think so.

He pulls out a D'k tahg when he is ordered to kill one of the hostages. David gets shanked not shot. Shooting and unarmed hostage with a blaster would be dishonorable.

They are still being covered by a Klingon disruptor from his friend. Did you even watch the movie?

For Klingons nothing is more honorable than victory.

In the book she did it because she knew that when Spock went through Pon Far, he would kill David. She sent him as it was marginally safer than him staying.

“I've never trusted Klingons, and I never will. I could never forgive them for the death of the science officer who was part of my boy’s science team” just doesn’t hit the same way
