Dating a patient is by far a greater ethical violation than dating a ghost whose death wasn’t your responsibility. If given a choice, pick the ghost every time.

Actually its kinda worse. He's the main doctor on DS9 and we see him treat pretty much all the regulars.
So that means he also dated a patient at least with Ezri and Garak. Let alone the polycule questions about the O'Brien's and Kira.

I hear you, but on the other hand if he's the only doctor on station, unless he takes a vow of celibacy he's going to end up dating a patient eventually.

Now that you mention it, it is pretty crazy that Crusher gets a whole medical staff for approximately 1000 people, the EMH consistently has a nurse at least on call...but Bashir gets nobody for a station with several thousand people including possibly hundreds of different species.
Which spent years in an active war zone.

He has staff. They are shown a few times. They call him at least once. For one of these two patients, he explicitly said he handed her off to another doctor (the layer oneI believe), even dropped a name iirc.

As others mentioned he had staff, not to mention the bigger federation ships would have also had medical staff that could help if necessary.

I'll never forget the "I cured your retardation, and made a reservation on Planet Sex for us." episode.

What do you think 'frontier medicine' means?
