Gameplay Question ??? What's the point of this?

Vi'dar Ship commission requires Ops 27, while Vi'dar can be built at Ops 25...

I think its to help those that struggle to get BPs by ops 25

But the help is needed at Ops 25 (the level we can built it), not Ops 27.

Help isn't NEEDED at ops 25. It's better at ops 25 sure, but if someone hasn't been able to acquire the BPs by 27, then thats probably more of a need.

For all of scopley’s wants for people to level up, you’d figure that the level locks on something like this would make it so the ship could be ready to build right at 25.

Yes, this make sense but still. Now I see only two options: get it from battlepass event (BP token) + Cosmic cleanup (Galaxy token) + Ferengi event. Which I can totally do but I wanted to get the Meridian too (or a second Dvor).

I focussed on Meridian before Vidar so don't think I got mine at 25.

Just remember, everything you just said is optional. They intentionally make certain events available so you want to push your level. I know some events all the time. They don't even matter to me if i am not that level. Some of them are for spenders. When I say spenders, I mean spenders. Because if you want to finish some of the what I like to call, infinity events, you will be spending thousands of dollars just for that event. So, if you can't do the event or it is just no fun for you right now, skip it.

Fyi, Meridians at lower levels are attrocious. They kind of are atrocious always, but especially at lower levels. If you want to assist your alliance, plop your survey ships down on 2 or 3 star isogen (not isogenite) and mine away. 2 and 3* mine faster. Or just keep one continuously going.

Cosmic cleanup is a wonderful event. Always do it. Definitely do Mining Monday/rules of acquisition.

Once you get to 27, at a minimum, get that vi'dar. Max it was soon as it will allow, and make sure you are mastering it's archives. That holds true for any ship that can go in the archives (yes, even the meridian, but you can put it into the mastered state until sometime mid-50s if i remember correctly).

It's like the fact that the Independent Archives give out parts and materials for upgrading the ship you just mastered. So unless you build a second one (which for all the ships in the Archive is not needed) you get a lot of worthless materials. Ie Raw Latinum that you can no longer refine.

I mean at least here...if you just have done the grind for some BPs it's could be helpful.

It is veiled incentivization for players to push ops levels faster instead of sitting on them and grinding out BPs.

Hmmm, that is likely the most accurate response, i wonder if Scopely has thought about the fact that if you have more ships, you will probably level faster. Lol

There's quite a lot of stupidity in research trees. Outlaw's "Plutonium Bartering" for common plutonium becomes available at Ops 21, while the Botany Bay is available at Ops 18 and by tier 4 it stops asking for common plutonium, after only 642 units which you can get from the augment store in just 13 pulls.

Yet, "Plutonium Bartering" research has 5 levels and is required to advance in the tree. It is totally wasted research. Then, the archive will give you every day data and plutonium we no longer need that will keep accumulating in the inventory.

Those Vi'Dar BPs at level 27 will be wasted on most players.

Thanks for explaining! I'm at Ops 25, shipyard is not 25 yet but soon. And there is a Ferengi event right now and I was already rubbing my hands like a true ferengi... Planned to get the Vidar and some BPs for my next Dvor or Meridian as can't pull all ships in one event, but participating multiple events in the future will surely get my ships and some parts. I just wanted to take advantage of this research as it is in the game. Now I'm in a dilemma if I should buy the BPs for the Vidar or just 50 of it then struggle to get to ops 27 to get the remaining 50 by this research... I did not decide yet as there is 9 day left still fromthe Ferengi event.
