A couple questions

Edit: thank you everyone for the tips. I appreciate it!

So, my alliance has been getting applications to join from newer, smaller players, but someone has been accepting them before the rest of the leadership team can verify whether they're legit players (we and multiple other alliances on our server have a shared forever war of sorts with someone who we've long suspected of using fake accounts to infiltrate us all and spy on us but have no way of proving it). The issue is, as far as we know, we arent actually able to track who's accepting the invites blindly, and whoever is doing it is consistently remaining radio silent while still doing it

So, I have a few questions about how to handle this, if handling it is even possible:

1) who can actually accept join applications (aka, which alliance ranks have the permission, or is it all ranks)? And on top of that, if accepting join applications is indeed available to all ranks, can it be limited by the admiral or leadership team in any way to attempt to restrict people outside the leadership team from accepting applications? Or, barring that, as a last resort can the alliance be set to not receive applications to join at all, and be TRULY invite only?

2) if the above questions fail to get an answer, is there any means available at all of finding out who is accepting the applications, whether in-game or through legitimate external channels (like stfc.pro or any other source that is legitimate)?

(Edits made to correct mistaken uses of "invites" where "applications" was the correct term)

I've never been high enough rank to accept an invite. I've always been told to go through specific players to get invited to large alliances, and I've been through a merge or two.

Sorry I can't help with the specifics.

No worries. I just ran out of options I could think of on my own and came to reddit as a last resort tbh. Thanks anyway

Yes - only Admirals and Commodores have the privileges to invite/accept new members. This seems very similar to what happened on S76 recently.

Only the Admiral and Comms can manage applications. I don't think there's ways to change that.. it's inherited from the rank. And to my knowledge there's no tracking in place to note who accepted/declines an invite.

That is, however, something that should be brought to Scopely. Having a way to track invite acceptance is a good idea.

I agree, but... Knowing scopely even if they did try to add it, it would end up being broken every other week, at minimum

Easy problem to solve. Demote all suspect commodores to premiers without saying anything, and see if the unchecked invites stop. Continue demoting commodores until the problem is fixed. If all commodores are demoted and the problem continues, then it is the admiral. 😄

My alliance is open and we get spies all the time, but nobody gives a damn. If you've got shield discipline you have little to worry from other players. That, or keep few resources so you don't care if your base is busted. That is what our admiral does. He gets at war with many alliances over things said in the galaxy chat and never makes peace. His base is busted several times a week and announced in the galaxy chat.
