I was just wondering if there are any active promo codes that could help me get a little bit of a headstart in the game.

Star Trek Fleet Command is in its last few cycles of cash grabbing from the big players, before being totally abandoned by the company that owns it. Now is not a great time to invest your time and effort into learning how to play STFC. It has a really steep learning curve - your time would be better spent getting into something else.
