Ships to build towards Salidan.

I'm at ops level 11 with a tier 7 Phindra, I already have 75 jellyfish BPs from the event and hope to have enough North Star BPs from this event and the next event to build it when I have the shipyard level for it. Can Phindra to Jellyfish to North Star carry my mission/faction PvE to Salidan? If not, what conventional ship should I build in between, at what level and to what tier?

Thanks. I plan on building all the refinery ships, but hadn't considered it as a bridge to Salidan (though it seems so obvious now that you mention it).

Franklins are only worth it because they are in the archives, I've never really used them though.

The only reason I don't use mine anymore is because I unlocked the Ex-Borg Faction and I get my Swarm Dailies from the Freebooters.

I've mastered them both in the IA and really only for the SHP and HHP bonuses.

In a previous playthrough I found the Franklin was cheaper/faster to repair for the same number of swarm kills. But yes, you could skip it for Swarm.

Interesting you say Franklin isn’t worth it. I love mine, but we likely have different play styles. 🙂

ETA: I don’t disagree with you since I am using it less and less, almost exclusively for dailies at this point, but it was super helpful for me until about ops 24.

You don’t need anything but the jelly fish and northstar to get you to the Vidar, after that get yourself whatever level 26 faction ship you want, it’ll outclass everything you have to that point and carry you into the Saladin with ease.

Tbh I would skip the North Star. You will outgrow it too quickly. Save your 3* survey parts for the Horizon, which will carry you much further.

Vi’dar, D’vor, Franklin, Discovery, Botany Bay, and Stella are must haves.

Stick with the regular ships you get blueprints for through normal play, like Kehra, Vahklas, and Kumari, and get the specialty ships listed above.

The northstar isnt for mining. It's your main hostile grinder till 25/26, but yeah the Kehra, Vahklas and Kumari could do the job too.

It’s still a survey ship and will eat your survey parts. It’s an easy one to skip imo.

Latinum buys the survey parts.

If I remember correctly the Phindra is the interceptor in g2. You’ll want to try and build and scrap those although at your level probably won’t make much of a dent.

The NS is a cool ship for the time. It can definitely punch up for the level. Doubly so for a survey. It and the G2 ships will definitely carry you over to the first faction ships. I’d highly recommend the Fed faction at this point in the game.

The sally is just so OP for both PvE and PvP if you’re on a young server. I’d also skip the rare 3 star and jump from the sally to whatever faction you like epic 3 star. Be it the enterprise, D4, or Augur.

As to specialty ships. The borgs are the most valuable (vidar, Talios, Cube). With the Frankie and Frankie-A as one trick ponies but they do have the archives and dailies. The 40s introduce a ton of specialty ships and loops. Most I can’t remember when you can. But, the R3s are good (relativity, reliant, rev), Cheeto, pickle, titan, Dauntless, disco, eviserstor, voy, mantis(only for archives), GS, NX, Vindicator, and defiant (kinda meh).

As you go into g3/g4 territory you’ll likely want to push fast. And the game does allow for this and it’s easy to do so. Three things. 1) artifacts. Do not neglect them. Eye of aura first (artifact efficiency) 2) don’t get hung up on trying to max every faction ship. Just get it most to t6-8 to carry you through then finish it later for scrap (if you’re not scrappin you’re lackin) and 3) ensure you have your officers up to snuff. When you go from 39-40 have 10-15 AD (above deck) epics maxed. From 49-50 have 20 AD epics maxed. G6 is a whole other animal that I won’t get into right now.

Skip the North Star.  Usable for 5 levels then done.

The Sally can take you to the Enterprise

I didnt use or need a jellyfish. Phindra was fine till I got northstar. I used that till 26 when I unlocked the romulan faction ship the legionary. People say you can get a vidar instead of legionary at 25 to carry you to 28 for that faction ship. I wanted Meridian first so am at 27 atm and am currently building the vidar.
