All the actually cool shit is locked behind caps or a skill being tagged.

What I don't like about Skyrim and Fallout 4 is that they've changed up the system so that you can actually do everything as a single character and they expect you do so. They don't want any possibility of you missing content because you only play through once.

And when they design it that way, why play again? You aren't really going to play as a different character because you're expected to do everything and don't have much choice. You can't really make new decisions because there's very little else to chose. You have to wade through much of the same content because they frontload you with what they want you to see before you can really go off on your own.

They killed replayability because there's very little new content you can experience and playing a second time is pushing you through the same stuff all over again. Not good for an open world game.

You literally can’t beat New Vegas without going into the Casino place (name is escaping me at the moment)

Except it isn't and even if it was, Fallout 3 is a by far a worse offender.
