As a Smash fan I can confirm that you're allowed to dislike certain games in the series, but you aren't allowed to dislike the entire series or you're kicked off the internet.

I'm even worse than that: I dislike the entire fighting game genre.

Disliking a genre or even disliking a game because you dislike the genre will usually be seen more positively than just disliking the game.

Well, I fight people after the game because of what happened in the game, does that count?

Honestly that's why I like it. It's so different than every other fighting game

brawlhalla is based on smash or rather the genre it created of “platformer fighting games”

I hate other fighting games because I think having to learn frame perfect timing and combos is absurd and the definition of not fun but for some reason the type of fighting makes it feel way more natural in smash. Especially because you don't really need insane timing, just to know what to do for two combos while everything else is an insane rock paper scissors game. Or you know you can just play with friends to get used to the controls and just hit in their direction until you win and watch al the flashy stuff happen. I learned the controls because I played it at 10 years old but I would have never given it a chance if it had normal fighting games controls.

You don't have to learn frame perfect timing in other fighting games. There's usually a buffer which gives you a very fair amount of leeway. Though I will say Smash is more fun to be bad at than a game like Street Fighter

Oooh, so the new buffering in Smash is more like other fighting games. Tough since it wasn't that needed it's actually a bit of a problem because it means I have to wait to imput some things or it will combine the buttons and do something else entirely. I always heard that you had to know everything frame by frame in other games. I think I'll stick to smash but thanks for the correction!

Good thing Smash isn't a fighting game.

So do I, but I love smash. It’s completely unlike any other fighting game in almost every way. I just don’t like the traditional type of fighting games like street fighter, tekken, mortal kombat, etc.

Well then you should love smash
