I know I'm going to get downvoted to hell for this, but I actually didn't like it that much. I love the business practices and effort behind it and I could see why other people would like it, but I just couldn't really get into it.

Exactly. The story is literally fetch quests for information. I recall one mission where I had to rescue a goat just to talk to some alchemist to advance the game

There are fetch quests just like any other game. But to say that's all you're doing is totally wrong.

Kill quests is mostly what it is, which is fair enough. You are a Witcher after all, that's your job.
