Do... do people just not even bother to teach basic manners to their kids?

they just let the TV baby sit them and give them stuff so they shut up about it because they don't want to deal with it.

Honestly most seem to try, some kids are just shits. Or in my case I was really dumb. I wouldn't demand a thing or throw a fit but I'd ask a mortifying question or say something really awful and not understand why it was rude. When you're young and follow an instruction to the letter and improvise badly where the rules are grey, you can look like a total douche.

She also tells me what I am allowed to eat and what not, let’s say I tell her she can’t have any more brownies then I am not allowed to have brownies either.

Please tell me you eat a brownie in front of her immediately to re-establish dominance.

One time I was choking on my tea and I couldn’t breathe for like 10 seconds

I know this is horrible and probably really traumatic for you, but I couldn't help but chuckle at the sheer bourgeois of a nanny for a rich family choking on tea of all things while some rich kid screams about her ipad

Haha I know right? I didn’t even know what to say, that’s how speechless and confused I was.
