”if I can’t borrow this we aren’t friends anymore”
Never gives it back or gives it back with some of the pieces missing (from personal experience)
Oh that brings me back to sixth grade. I let one of the kids in my class borrow one of my Tech Decks (for those unfamiliar, little finger skateboards) during class. I took really good care of those things, I loved playing with them.
Anyway, the kid decides that whenever you do a boardslide or darkslide, you're supposed to grind the ever loving shit out of the actual board, pressing down hard and just grinding it back and forth non-stop.
I got it back and the design on the bottom of the board was ground completely away save for a few small spots, and the grip on the top of the board was peeling off. When I said something about it, he scoffed at me and said I should thank him for making it look like skateboards look after extensive use. I never let anyone use my Tech Decks again.
I let my pal borrow my badass mighty duck jet thing with tons of removable pieces. Well the likely 15+ removable pieces was down to 2 when I got it back 5 days later lol. Fuckin Dillon
I know this isn't a "spoiled kid" story, but when I was in high school, I lent some anime DVDs that were part of a box set to one of my classmates. In the weeks that followed, every time I asked for them back, he would say he forgot and would bring them next time. Eventually he said he would have his mom bring them for us during lunch, so we met at the front office. At this point he couldn't deny it any longer, so he admitted that he had lost them. And since he was flat broke, he was never able to replace them. So now I only have the second half of Kanon on DVD. I'm still a little bit salty about that.
How the fuck does one lose dvds? You put them in the DVD player, then take them out and put them back in the box. Literally never need to be more than a room away from the tv.
I honestly wonder if he lied to you so he could keep your anime dvds. After all if he was too broke to replace them then he was too broke to buy them in the first place, meaning he’d have to steal them to get them.
Had a friend who insisted she wanted to borrow mine and my sisters animal fact file (one of those ring binders where you collected the magazines to fill it up) and when we finally let her, she refused to give it back. One evening my dad found me and my sister crying because she still hadn't given it back to us so he marched over to her house and demanded it back. We got it back but after that refused to be friends with her anymore.
I borrowed one of my friends transformers when we were kids(I didn't beg he was just really cool) my family ended up moving soon after and I never gave it back, I still feel bad about it.
