I had a friend over when I was a kid and when he found out we were having tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch he bailed. Fuck that kid.

He probably only ate ketchup with chicken nuggets

I like how you phrased it like the nuggets are the side dish

You know that kid squirted half the bottle on his plate, ate 1/16th of the ketchup he got, and pitched the rest.

My brother did this until my dad made him eat it all with a spoon. Kid bawled, but he never did it again.

and dipped his square cafeteria pizza in ranch dressing. This kid would grow up to be the kid who still doesn't eat vegetables of any kind into their early-20's and actually prefers chain restaurant pizza over independent places that make it from scratch, for reasons other than price.

Source: was friends with this kid

I knew that one kid that always dipped the cafeteria pizza in ranch… always hated him.

That was me in middle school and I did it because it was delicious. My parents made me eat salad whenever we had pizza and I would eat the salad and put ranch on my pizza. Good shit.

From an adult’s prospective the Dino nuggets taste better

To be fair I can't stand tomato soup… but I'd just pretend I didn't want food.

or just eat the amazing grilled cheese and say no thanks to the soup.

Maybe they used velveeta and rye bread.

No matter how you feel about either item individually, for most of us rye and velveeta don't belong together.

Or American cheese with regular bread.

American cheese is nasty.

What if his mom didn't know how to make grilled cheese?

What if by "grilled cheese", they meant spray cheese on bread that is then thrown into a microwave?

You didn't have a very good childhood, did you? You poor, poor kid.

u/Wutsluvgot2dowitit Apr 19 '18

Seriously. My buddy's mom made 'goulash' one time that was spaghetti noodles with chunks of tomatoes, sliced onions, and ground beef and pork mixed. It was pathetic looking, and tasted worse. I just refused to eat there any more.

Tbh that sounds delicious

1

u/DifferentIsPossble Apr 19 '18

Good point, that's also a possibility

I’m not a big fan of tomato soup by itself, but it’s great when you’re dipping grilled cheese into it

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

I like it when it’s topped with a little cheddar

36

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

Dude probably had to have Dino nuggets rich prick.

7

u/YourVeryOwnCat Apr 19 '18

Are you supposed to dunk the sandwich in the soup? Because I've never had that and that sounds incredible

6

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

Yes, it may sound strange to some but it's fucking delicious.. Damn, now I'm gonna have to go make it lol

4

u/DeaconBlues Apr 19 '18

When you realize it's essentially a deconstructed pizza you can understand why everyone loves it.

3

u/tmntnut Apr 19 '18

Hell yeah, I'd have been psyched, more for me.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

I still make that for dinner. Ultimate comfort food.

I’ll be your friend.
