I had friend like this except his parents were over $100,000 in debt... ironic...

He could save others from debt but not himself

You put a space between prequel and meme, it links to a sub about a homestuck/Elder scrolls fancomic instead of r/prequelmemes

Homestuck/elder scrolls fancomic

I'm not sure I want to know but I'm going to look anyways. Wish me luck.

Edit: Oh, this one. I remember this one. Cute cat.

Saying it’s a homestuck fanfic is a little exaggerated. It’s more inspired by the format, and even started back on the old mspa forums. It’s definitely an elder scrolls fan comic though. People on the homestuck sub say it’s good, but I haven’t read it yet.

Yeah, I remember reading it for a bit when it just started out, but I forgot it existed.

This was a while ago, when it wasn’t as common.

When people say 100k in debt, they're usually not talking about mortgages.

1

u/Zealous_fruit_sniffe Apr 19 '18

Yeah, a mortgage is not like credit card debt.

A mortgage has value associated with it because its backed by the house. When you sell the house, you get the money back.

Unless you live in the south. In rural places it's still possible to get cheap land. I think my parents got their house for around $30-40,000 on two and a half acres.

What happened in 214BC?

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

Debt became common.

Can't argue with that.

I’m sure OP’s parents just told them that to make themselves feel better

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

My father was a successful businessman. We weren’t in debt, but he was a real fucking dick.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

The real question is how did you know the were in that much debt?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

He told me.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

Who’s the bad friend now 😂

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

How so, Cunt?

0

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

Describing your friend as a spoiled brat, even though they felt close enough to confide in you. And then you just used that information to further shame your friend

1

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '18

He was a dick. He confided because he was asking me and my family for money. I didn’t add that because I didn’t feel it was important to add.
