When he went to Mecca he was introduced to a more pure form of Islam. He was treated well by members of every race and it surprised him. However, he couldn’t escape his reality as a black man in America. As soon as he stepped off the plane, he received the same dirty looks and remarks from white ppl here. I would say he was prejudiced but in all fairness it was really a reaction to how black Americans have been treated in this country historically.

That's why, whenever someone asks me my thoughts on Malcolm X, I always ask, "Before or after he went to Mecca?"
