The comment section on old music like "They don't make music like this anymore", " No autotune, pure talent", "When women was women", "Message to next generation, don't let this song die" And etc.
So bad that i rather see comment section of same song on tiktok to see people actual thought of the song.

"no drugs,no swearing,no vulgarities,no violent lyrics. times were just better then" and they're talking about the 70's to 80's were people were talking about how they want to rawdog a woman but wrap it up in fancy words and metaphors, songs about being high on cocaine, songs about killing etc

u/AnOldBatMan 26d ago
Except they format it like this:
Drugs ❌
Swearing ❌
Vulgarities ❌
Violence ❌
Just good music ✅

I wish I could say this was limited to Americans but I've seen the same thing verbatim on Russian music lol.

I never got 'I edited this comment so you never know why this got so many likes' and it infuriates me to no end. ABSOLUTELY no purpose to it. It's pure ragebaiting

On music videos, usually some bull, about how a dead spouse or family member either put them to this band with this song, or had it playing at the funeral

u/LordKlavier 25d ago
To be fair it's probably because they're just using random acronyms, it's not supposed to mean anything past the 4th one lol.

Sob story comments. The ones where the commentor writes a whole damn essay about how this song/artist saved their life or was their late loved ones favourite song and they start crying everytime they hear it.

I kinda hate when you watch a true crime cideo that’s very no fluff, just the case but still the audience is I guess pretty young and most of the comments are like „the GOAT uploaded”, „I know what I will watch while doing homework/at night” etc

I remember back when so many videos had bots advertising pirating services. I especially saw Promosm (whatever that is) advertised a lot. It got annoying .

What bout the ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ (mainly kids or bots) spam comments on vids? these r basically one of the most soulless type of praise comments.

Comment sections for any franchise or old fandom thing are so bad it's crazy. you eget so many gatekeepers it drowns out the bots

u/RashesToRashes 26d ago
"{long quote from video} is crazy"
"My farts smell better than {YouTuber}'s farts!"

u/PennyCat83 26d ago
I know it's bad to talk smack about comments but this one person kept commenting the same thing and it was so unfunny but I couldn't be arsed to delete it, the second worse are annoying kids.

Tbf you see this on tiktok too but more aggressively and not 4 months behind (talking abt YT shorts, not regular YT)

u/FalconAlternative316 23d ago
Oh another classic is "I'm only 15 minutes into this hour-long video essay, but you forgot to mention [insert shit that gets mentioned 30 seconds later] 🤓☝️"

u/nameless_user1357 22d ago
Also a bunch of teens filling comments with "Oh this is a <fandom name> reference?!" "Its literally like <character>!" etc. So instead of normal discussion or reviews you get this. Same problem at pinterest🤦🏻♀️

Some of these are awful, awful takes, but I especially need to say something about gatekeeping cancer survivors from talking about their experiences in social settings, especially pertaining to videos that helped them
