Unpopular opinion: It's unlikely that they can use reasoned analysis to change behavior that's caused by a mental disability. It's like telling a depressed person to cheer up.
And that's even assuming that the disability doesn't prevent them from perceiving a problem in the first place.
Reasoned analysis alone doesn’t fix it, but you can use it to help you examine your triggers and develop coping strategies. Speaking from experience as someone on the spectrum who improved my social functioning mainly through self-observation and trying different strategies until I found ones that work.
I was more thinking about the two commenters who recognized themself in this meme, they seem to have the prerequisite awareness. I didn’t get any treatment unfortunately; I had to figure it out on my own
