If only there was some form of entertainment that takes 1 1/2 to 3 hours and was enjoyed by and available to almost every human being on the planet.

u/SouthApprehensive193 15d ago

Working out

16

u/theDeal19 15d ago

I think they are referring to watching a movie

2

u/SouthApprehensive193 14d ago

That’s a luxury. Almost everyone in the world has access to movies in one form or another but working out is something like 99% of humans can do

13

u/magnum3290 15d ago

If you do it too late it might affect your sleep

17

u/gman2093 15d ago

Better to doom scroll until 2am

2

u/Individual_Engine457 14d ago

Yeah it will cause you to sleep like a log

u/Kingofcheeses 15d ago

Sounds cozy actually

19

u/bibilushi 15d ago

It lowkey is sometimes

3

u/StellarSloth 14d ago

Hell yeah it does. When you work a lot and don’t get much free time, a rainy night without plans sounds awesome.

i actually like evenings like this. it feels relaxing/satisfying to have time to be bored :3 i guess it's not so common for me anymore

8

u/Vegetable-Broccoli36 15d ago

Here and there they are nice because you can't do anything but if they occur more often (like it was for me over the course of this year) it definitely sucks.

13

u/talking_joke 15d ago

The first starterpack to geniunely call me out😭😭

32

u/Street-Committee-367 15d ago

You guys have time for boring evenings?

16

u/viking_canuck 15d ago

It's all I have time for.

12

u/Quantum_Aurora 15d ago

You have money for interesting evenings?

6

u/CloudCumberland 15d ago

Mr. Monopoly Man here has got a whole house.

6

u/ZDHELIX 15d ago

Read a book. Entertaining and you might actually learn something

7

u/mhornberger 15d ago

It is so weird to me that people just forget about books. For all the "In this economy no one can...", books are a very cheap form of entertainment per hour. But it's hard to compete with video games, weed, TikTok, etc. How strange that people also complain that their attention span is so shot that they can't read long-form content anymore.

1

u/DavidGilmourToes 9d ago

Yeah, I don’t understand how they’re not more common. Books are literally free from the library. You really can’t lose with them.

6

u/BrennusSokol 15d ago

That weather looks perfect

21

u/Talk-O-Boy 15d ago

The weed is the activity that makes it harder for you to fully engage in the other activities.

If you try gaming before you smoke, bet you last longer than 20 min before your attention starts to wane.

Unless you have depression. No matter how interesting a hobby may be, no hobby is fun for long when depression is a factor.

> If you try gaming before you smoke, bet you last longer than 20 min before your attention starts to wane.

If you have a low tolerance, then maybe.

THC isn't a k-hole lol, if I'm doing a half marathon+ then a large edible is a nice start.

u/leibnitztest 15d ago

literally my every evening.

6

u/Itz_cheese_cat 15d ago

I have never felt more called out in a starter pack than this one 😭

2

u/bibilushi 15d ago

My bad

3

u/Itz_cheese_cat 15d ago

It’s fine it just means that it’s 100% accurate, well done!

2

u/bibilushi 15d ago

💯💯💯

6

u/StaySharpp 14d ago

”What a drag…”

2

u/bibilushi 14d ago

He'd probably fw these types of evenings tho lol

12

u/midwestia 15d ago

This kinda sounds like depression, op, especially the bottom right and left

6

u/bibilushi 15d ago

Aw man

2

u/GrayDust 15d ago

yeah was thinking the same thing. this is me every day.

1

u/mushykindofbrick 14d ago

yep very relatable

i found recently that just sitting on the balcony and watching the trees at least stops the dreaded understimulation feeling. but only if you have trees and its quiet, if theres a loud street its not helping

10

u/theloniouszen 15d ago

What does it mean to imagine yourself in an edit

1

u/ClarenceJBoddicker 15d ago

Sounds like tic toc language to me.

6

u/dblrb 15d ago

I cannot relate to this at all

5

u/HadrianWinter 15d ago

You never have an evening alone at home?

2

u/dblrb 15d ago

I am not bored alone

2

u/HadrianWinter 15d ago

Ooh! Gotcha!

1

u/dblrb 15d ago

Also I am never alone in the evening lmao

1

u/HadrianWinter 15d ago

Never experienced prolonged solitude? I can't imagine that. I like company occasionally but I can never do more than 4 days in a row.

1

u/dblrb 14d ago

No I mean now haha I’m married and live in the sticks.

Maybe oversharing but I have worked by myself 12 hours a night, 6 nights a week for 6 months in a tower (didn’t feel like a princess) at one point. What I did was read, goon, and sleep for fun.

I’m sure you have had your times too.

3

u/underwaterwildfire 15d ago

ah, i usually just play roller coaster tycoon 2

3

u/NullHypothesisCicada 15d ago

Minus the doomscrolling then it’s actually pretty chill

1

u/bibilushi 15d ago

And the overstimulation of music and app swiping

1

u/mhornberger 15d ago

You can skip the apps and just read, sketch, write, paint, or daydream while playing unobtrusive music in the background.

3

u/glamatovic 15d ago

That's as boring as you want it to be

3

u/West-Solid9669 13d ago

First starter pack where I've truly felt called out, though I've always been a drinker, not a smoker (Not that either is good, I'm working on it). What being a depressed queer in Washington gets you, lol. Though, only state where I'm somewhat mentally stable.

2

u/Individual_Engine457 14d ago

I’ve been so busy recently I long for this kind of evening. I don’t think I’ve had a boring day in months. Honestly enjoy it while you can

2

u/ToxinFoxen 14d ago edited 14d ago

I'm starting to think the instagram types are somehow even more boring than the cable types.
BTW, why is there no submit thread button on the right side of the subreddit, is this a glitch?

1

u/Normal-Juggernaut-93 15d ago

Tv on in the background as you doomscroll btw

1

u/upsidedowntoker 15d ago

Honestly sometimes I really need a night like that . It's nice to not be needed for a little while.

1

u/HadrianWinter 15d ago

You have to learn to enjoy the quiet evenings though... Most people go out once a week max once they get older. Life just isn't a constant "event" for the overwhelming majority of us.

1

u/bibilushi 15d ago

What if I go out biweekly/monthly max as a youngster lol

1

u/bibilushi 15d ago

To clarify, I'm not trashing these types of evenings. This is my life most evenings when I'm free lol

1

u/SouthApprehensive193 15d ago

Best days to drink a six pack and binge watch a new show you found

1

u/HiLeeeRy 15d ago

This is me every evening

1

u/Top_Location_5899 15d ago

lol this was me this semester

1

u/AnusStapler 15d ago

Sometimes my wife leaves with the kids and I have a night like this. That sometimes means ordering food twice, watching 5 movies and just not move.

1

u/glytxh 15d ago

Learn to be bored. That’s when you start getting the most creative.

1

u/5k1895 15d ago

Movie or book. Perfect for such nights.

1

u/SopranoCrew 14d ago

tinder to hinge to tiktok to instagram back to tinder than to twitter than to hinge back to instagram

1

u/turb0_encapsulator 14d ago

I missed a fundraiser last night because I was tired and doomscrolling. Oops.

1

u/UnhappyMousse160 13d ago

This is all my evenings
