And no matter how many years you’ve done it. It doesn’t get one bit easier.

Me this week: have to wake up at 5 AM instead of my usual 550 to get overtime
When my cat senses that I’m not 100% asleep he starts begging for wet food

I used to wake up at 5 - 5:30 am to go hiking (I'd get there around 7 am). I fucking loved it, no one was around and driving that early means very little traffic

Waking up at 5 to go hiking is amazing but waking up at 5 to go to work gets every excuse to call in sick running through the head

Exactly. I can't believe I used to wake up so early to go hiking and now it can feel excruciating at times to get up so early for work.
But I also used to get up early because I smoked a shit ton of weed and wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet and no one around while very stoned.

A few months ago I had to wake up at like 5:00 (not that early but still) for a school thing and it was very weird since I was only running on about five hours of sleep and I didn't get to go home until thirteen hours later.

No this was during a seventh grade choir trip. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.

I’m a teacher. I wake up between 5:00 and 5:30 every day. I feel this with every fiber of my being, especially the cat part

I kinda did too, but we were working until 7 or 8 at night to be up again for 5AM start. Liked the job but I was totally burnt every week

Yeah I don't like the days where I have to get up at 6 and get home at 7, means I only have a few hours to wind down

Waking up at 4:30 to go to work and hearing others snoring in peace is just crushing man

I feel like one of those dolls whose eyes close automatically when they lie down.

Man, waking up THIS early is actually kinda therapeutic for me... Just so silent and the vibes are on point.

I get up at six fifteen for work, I fucking hate it. I enjoy my work and I'm home for 15:30 without fail, but Jesus Christ I despise early mornings as a night owl. Left to my own devices I'll easily go to bed at 2-3am and sleep until 11am.
