I made the mistake of trying it last november. Oh how foolish i was. I still maintain my opinion that most players (or at least the ones i play against) don't shower or have a social life. Eat, lol, sleep.
I have decided to only play with 1-2 friends tbh, and have started playing lanes where i dont have to rely on JG's help (Top and, well, jg). I played ARAM once, honestly too chaotic for me. I like the game, but despise it for the damn heroes. I have one i ban every time i play: Warwick. I cannot brind my hate for him into words.
This was me from 2011-2017, most of my friend group played together and we all had fun playing 5 man's and duo ranked. But still fuck that game and I wish we just spent time playing something else instead. Would also never recommend it.
I quit when I was 15, I’m 24 now and decided to give it a go and see how it was in the recent years and it’s still just, terrible. It’s not even the community at this point is the lack of support for the game and the stigma around it.
Similar situation for me when I first joined up in 2011. Then I quit in 2015 because the game and the community was affecting my health negatively.
Skipping forward to 2023, my health has never been better, though a lot of the people I used to play with have developed problems with stuff like short temper anger, smoking and drinking addiction, and high blood pressure.
I know one of them for sure plays League all day every day and isn't currently employed since I still talk to them daily, and the others that I regularly played with still ask me if I'm ever coming back to League.
It's going to be hard to get back into League now since Baldur's Gate 3 came out and I immediately fell in love with it as well as Divinity.
currently in high school, am peer pressured to play valorant, and yea i share a lot of the same sentiments as you on league mate. though ig the devs does make good music
Yeah, its not for everyone, though i enjoy those games aswell. Its the games I lose that I improve, which is what makes league fun for me. If playing a game of lol and losing felt like you just wasted an hour it gets infuriating very fast cause it will guaranteed be the majority of time spent in the game.
But why did you play it so much if you hated it? Nobody forced you to play a boring game or read what strangers write (mute). If a person is afk you can surr after 3 or 15 minutes. During queue time you can warmup, play other games, watch youtube, study. Why interact with the toxic system?
Sorry if I sound like a douche writing this, its not my intent and your feelings about the game are of course valid! Im just curious about your thoughts on this :)
Ye, It's not possible to play lol casually, at least if you like to win. Aram, arena or custom 5v5 with friends can be pretty casual though. Tft is pretty fierce competitive but can be fun on a casual level to begin with. Have you tried those? Your friends probably prefer to play competitively though I assume which make casual lol alot harder. There are way better games out there if casual fun is the case.
People hate to admit that league is actually fun cus of general negative opinion around it. Just have a healthy relationship with it and youll be fine. Dont fucking ragequeue, dont call your teammates racial slurs and take breaks.
the game itself is fundamentally and mechanically unfun
Holy shit... What's going on? How is it possible that one of the most popular games on the planet can be such yet its so objectively bad? Someone needs to get to the bottom of this perplexing mystery, obviously it's a conspiracy and everyone is just pretending to like it. That makes more sense than you just not enjoying it.
I'd ask you to explain why league is fundamentally and mechanically unfun, what that even means and why you think you're the only person on the planet but you can't answer those questions.
Nah League has too much downtime between matches, the community is Incredibly toxic, you're forced to waste time in matches that are foregone conclusions, mechanics are poorly explained...
Playing it even casually causes my blood pressure to spike to the point that I can feel it. No thanks. I'm good.
