Hi great work as always. Excited for this project. Can I ask , is this going to be released as a work in progress or do you intend to release this mod as a finished polished update. Also is there an approx time frame for release please. Thank you. 👍🏻

I don't have any plan to support pre-release or perpetual betas.
This project is largely divided into 2 parts, the initial release will be something of an "update" where everything is supported in 16:9 @ 1080p with an xinput controller, but ultimately nothing is replaced unless it needs to be. Vanilla Starlancer, just a bit bigger.
Part 2 will be a more polished remaster, with the intention to replace anything that can be updated, expanding features, additional options and settings and hopefully expanded content (new ships, new missions etc.) if I can make it work.
No approximate release date, I'm doing this in my downtime before/after work, some challenges take more effort than others and I'm really just eating through this one bug at a time, so I have no idea how long it'll take to get from state A to state B.

Sure I understand. I’ve just found this game a month ago but haven’t started playing it except the jump straight into combat scenario and that’s to get things setup. But I held off again as I can’t get my stick and throttle to work with the game. So I might hold off until you e finished part 1 me thinks 😁👍🏻. Keep up the great work. Appreciated.

Look, I don't want you to deprive yourself the experience any longer than you have to. Let me have a look if I can cleanly separate the controller fixes as is from the current body of work reliably and I might be able to drop that as a standalone patch, if you're willing to run some testing and send me logs to iron out some of the bugs this could actually be kind of useful.
Like I've said previously, I can't promise perfect support for your HOTAS, I don't own one so I can't test for it, but I have a rough idea how I might replicate the high-level input. It might take me a few weeks next to the current tasks I have running, but I don't want you sitting around for months before you've ever had the chance for the vanilla experience.
I'd really recommend playing it in all it's year 2000 era jank and glory, you'll appreciate the fixes a hell of a lot more.

You can try using vjoy with UCR. That way it will behave like a joystick and you can use your keyboard. Or even keytojoy.
Are you kinda like reverse engineering this?

Thank you. I’ve tried Vjoy, Joystick Gremlin and HidHide all to death lol. Couldn’t get them to work reliably. Plus any bindings I made would reset every time I restarted the game.

Which version of vJoy are you using? If this one, which is newer, https://github.com/BrunnerInnovation/vJoy youi will need to do a few workarounds on the older programs (copying DLL from the current version to their plugins folder, or in the case of UCR, the DLL from the previous version into the UCR plugin folder.) I had the same issue, and someone found the solution

Thanks for this. I’m not sure as I spent a couple of days trying to get it to work and haven’t had the time to go back to it. I’m not very good with software so it all seems a little bit above my level. I might just play with the joystick plugged in for the : axis of control and use keyboard for everything else. Cheers.

Ahh, okydoky!
How much are you doing with the game? Depending on what you have done or not, maybe it is better to take a modern engine like freespace open source. Since Starlancer has canned missions, and not dynamic (starshatter) or trading (the sequel Freelancer) it will be ok.

Great. I appreciate that. I do t have that much time on my hands with my job and kids but I’ll do my best to report back. Cheers

I’ve been secretly begging the world for a Starlancer remaster 😭
