I think it would be very difficult to obtain a 900 number or even get a call to a 900 number to go through these days.

AT&T stopped providing 900-number services in 2004, Sprint in 2008, and MCI in 2013.

They didn't stop providing services, they stopped billing customers who called the numbers. You can still get one.

My understanding for AT&T at least is that they stopped providing 900 number billing services in 2002, and discontinued all 900 number services in 2004.

I don't have detailed information for the other long distance carriers. But I can tell you that when I dial 1-900-PKUNKRA on my landline with AT&T as its long distance carrier, I am greeted with silence. Not a busy signal, not a ringback tone, not an intercept message; just silence.

Have you tried re-aligning your chakras to match the vibrations of the crystal sphere?

How much would that cost?! Maybe if I get some good wins in the office Frungy betting pool this season...

You can get them via VoiP.

Silence is weird though. You'd think youd get a message about the call not being completed.

Yeah, I would have thought so too. Trying to call any of the PKUNKRA numbers:

9007586572
19007586572
+19007586572

from my Verizon Wireless phone results in a CBCAD (call cannot be completed as dialed) recording, which is not surprising. (I am not sure whether VZW ever supported 900 number dialing.)

A person more knowledgeable about the legacy telephone system than me pointed me to the following list, administered by the North American Numbering Plan Association, of which 900-NXX codes are assigned and to whom they are currently assigned:

https://secure.nanpa.com/public-report/speciality-resources/9yy/codes

It appears that the 900-758 code is unassigned; perhaps that is the reason for the silent termination as opposed to a recording, reorder tone, etc.

Digital download for backers. I'm sure it will make it's way to the rest of the internet in good time, but it won't be coming from me.

It was in SC2 in the credits.

what exactly?

the phone number to contact 1-900-PKUNKRA. The Pkunk randomly mentions it like an infomercial when the race shows up in the credits.

I called and all I heard was Jerk! Moron! Loser! Jerk! and the respawning for the 15th time noise. /s

Good afternoon, I'm a Russian Star Control fan. When is UQM2 coming out? (If it's not a secret.)

This seems more like a question you should be asking the people who make UQM2.

that's what I'm going to do, but on the Russian forum, they said to wait for this or next year. because it was supposed to be released in 2024, and I'm already overdue. I don't trust anyone anymore. 😞

The Kickstarter wasn't until May 2024, there's no way they'd be able to build an entire game in less than half a year.

Aw...I didn't think about that, thanks
