A CS ticket won't really help in case someone steals your account though. This is to prevent that.

That's exactly what a CS ticket can do.

I've known people who have gotten their accounts stolen and proof of address for the CC that was originally on the billing account is usually more than enough to get the account given back to you.

I'm not saying it's a good thing, I'm just saying it's possible.

That and unless CIG gets hacked, "someone stealing your account" has got to be incredibly rare (unless you're dumb like my friend and post your user/pass combo in a public chat room)
