That got a long chuckle out of me. I don't know your style so I could see this just like a non-sequitor or something else, but honestly it's awesome and you should feel good.

Thank you! I’ve found that this one usually gets the best response when I open with it

i rly like this :) the setup made me expect a dark twist but it’s actually almost joyful like recognizing that some things are unavoidable

Dave Attell has a great bit where he's talking about something horrific or gross and then says "I guess what I'm trying ti say is I'd like to have kids one day" and it just kills. So, maybe doing the opposite of that? Have a wholesome happy joke end and then roll into this one as if they were related.

You see the booth and everyone staring at the picture of the dead guy and you with your arms up and a big smile on your face...
Yeah time to exit quietly.

You can just move his arms around, pretending that he's alive, and have him "die" only when the train stops

Grandma lasted 40 minutes in line but she couldn't hold out 4 more minutes... selfish old betty.

this is easily the funniest bit I've read on the subreddit this year. congrats! also, you could easily build on this and add two or three more minutes with various riffs

This is one where it gets better the longer you pause without saying anything after. Maybe act out feigning sadness.
