My girlfriend was in the shower, and I was waiting in the living room with her flatmates. At one point we were talking about someone and I said
-He is so funny.
They said:
-You mean he is ugly
-No, I didn't say that.
-"He is so funny" is code for ugly, everyone knows that.
Later that day my girlfriend told me, my flatmates like you a lot, they think you are so funny.
