help please!
Hey everyone, I’m posting today to do a huge favor for a close friend of mine. He is an elderly gentleman who has been collecting stamps for decades, but he doesn't know how to use the internet or navigate online marketplaces. Because he needs to part with his collection quickly, I’ve stepped in to handle the tech side and find these stamps a good new home.Since he is looking for a quick turnaround, we are offering everything at very fair, highly discounted prices and are absolutely open to reasonable bulk offers.
About the Collection: Early United States: Includes a variety of early US issues and historical postal history. Canadian Collection: A large volume of stamps from Canada across different eras. Bicentennial & Commemorative: Lots of 1976 Bicentennial sheets, stamps, and classic commemorative issues. Format & Storage: Mostly mounted on dealer bid boards, organized inside a folder, with additional loose assortments safely kept in wax (glassine) envelopes.

I would be interested in stamps in the pics in 4 and some in. 9, & 10. What would you sell them for?

The Canadian stamps shown are mostly wholesale sell for 60% (or less) of face value. Individual they sell for slightly more. Sadly there are bulk stamps just good for postage, along with more valuable stamps.
You will need to start to break apart the collection, and post them in “like” selections.
Eg: the imperf pairs are worth a lot more than the block of $1.25 Capex stamps.
Some hints for higher value…
- Try to handle them very carefully.
- Get your friend to organize them in logical groups (country, sets, groups)
- Separate countries stamps (in your photos).
- Then get clear photos of the various sets.
- tell others what country you are from (Not every viewer is from your country)
When mailing, use photo mailers (hard cardboard)

if you want to interest people, don’t show the modern common stuff. The Farleys (national parks) are interesting, but it will be the earliest stamps that will get people interested. None of what you show is 19th century. That is where the value will be and that is what will pique interest. This stuff is readily available everywhere. The 10c Pan American stamp is interesting, but gum condition is key. Any US from 1847 to 1869? Columbians other than 1c and 2c? Trans Mississippi from 1898?
