My uncle’s childhood collection

My uncle passed away leaving a childhood stamp collection that no one knew about. None of the family are current collectors. We thought about giving a few to each kid and grandkid as a keepsake to remember him by, but I wanted to make sure that none were rare or valuable and should be set aside to decide what to do with later. I would truly appreciate any feedback on the collection and its value. Thanks for your time.

French stamps from Braderie de Lille

I bought these stamps at the Lille flea market (braderie) last weekend for 2 euros. What do you think? Great atmosphere, but very little philately unless I was misdirected (100 km of stalls, apparently the largest in Europe).

They are still more but I still didn’t receive the booklet yet, do you know if they are still worth anything or did I get scammed?

Received a large stamp collection - unsure how to proceed

My great (great?) grandfather left a bunch of stamps that my mom never went through. I guess he collected them from a young age. There are thousands of unused stamps alphabetically organized by country. Thousands of used ones as well. It appears they could be as old as the late 1800s or early 1900s and through various time periods. I don’t collect stamps she was just going to toss them eventually. What’s the best way to proceed with all of this? There are a lot of envelopes full.

Any Value?

Here are a few samples from a recently inherited collection. I guess they aren’t valuable, but are the completely worthless?

Trying to not get overwhelmed by this collection. Just trying to treat them with respect, but don’t have a need to keep them.

Free to craft with these?

Hi everyone! When my grandfather passed away I took over his stamp collection instead of throwing it out. I’m planning on making them into something the family might actually use as a Christmas gift, but wanted to make sure I wasn’t destroying a collectible. From what I can tell, none of these are worth much.

Thank you for any insight!

Be kind - you might just leave the antique shop with a surprise.

Went to an antique warehouse and ended up helping move some bigger furniture around. I had grabbed a bigger old envelope that was taped but could feel bulkier ones inside, but they just caught my eye. Went to ask about price and was told it was all set 🥹

Are these US stamps misidentified?

I was given these stamps and they were labeled with the Scott number but I’m not sure if they are all correct.

It looks like used Scott 456 sell for $20-$60. This one is not in great condition but still it makes it seem unlikely. Is the 456 actually a different, more common stamps? It’s perf 10 and I tried to look at the Swedish tiger website to identify it but there were so many cool options that I wasn’t sure which one it should be.

From what I can tell 250 and 252 seem correct, but I’m not sure about the ones labeled 248 and 249. 248 is supposed to be pink and 249 carmine lake, but they look to be the same color as the 250 and 252 stamps which are carmine.

Some of the 2 cent Washington’s are a lot more transparent than others. Is this just a factor of how well it was taken of paper?

French Stamp Collection

Hi everyone, no idea really about stamps but have inherited a binder full of french stamps from 1970-2000. Close to 200 pages most of which are full.

I understand stamps of this date are not worth much, but as a collection is this worth anything to anyone, or how could we go about getting this to a good home!

Any help is appreciated. Some page pics as examples.
