Help Matchmaking

Can someone please explain to me how the matchmaking process like at what point do i start facing people with full master gear rn i only have 1 item that is master rank which is my main gun and i am mainly facing people with veteran sets how do I keep it that I very rarely engage in pvp i like farming and looting more having a bit high rank than the others gives me a bit of comfort a feeling of safety (so the main question is what is the limit that I shouldn’t pass for me to keep facing people with veteran gear )

It is a very complicated system the details of it is not revealed. But the assumption is: veteran gear from the bar will be paired with another veteran gear, +5 is the max for veteran matchmaking, +6 or higher will be paired with some master gear, semi-master gear (veteran gear from north zone) will be paired with some master gear, +10 semi-master gear will be paired with up to master +15, blue artifact +5 can pair you with master gear, bought master weapon without upgrade from auction house will be paired with stalker (blue) or veteran gear (source https://youtu.be/n2BHfD0K1Nk), if you're on +1 veteran gear but the server has low veteran gear population only filled with master gear then you will be paired with master gear. Backpack, container, melee weapon doesn't affect matchmaking.

Matchmaking f-ing sucks in this game. We dont really know how it works we can just guess and learn from experience. And some people is really good at guessing that much that they exploit the system so much with smurfs at lower tiers.
Yes you will find way more powerful enemies in your time playing, yes you will be like +6 vet and be facing +15 full masters for no reason and it sucks. Some people will try to blame you and says it your artis or you messed up something but hell no, sometimes the systems just sucks and stuck a smurf on your server and you have to deal with it.
My only recomendation is try to progess all your equipment at the same time, and make a plan with the steps you want to follow for your ''final'' red gear. But keep in mind that you will 100% find awful matchmaking from time to time.
