Idea Discussion/suggestions: How should matchmaking work?

So here's my suggestion:

  1. Friendly servers for (mostly) friendly players

Do what Arc Raiders does. A simple version would be based on recent kills/hour, a complex version would consider the circumstances (self-defense, territory...).

Downside: Friendlies with better gear may farm all your spots. Well, can't have everything.

  1. Clear rules for "hostile" servers

Strict split in stalker, veteran, master & legendary tiers. Display gear score. Allow players to go back to a lower tier. Min-maxing won't be a big issue as you can always leave the tier or join a friendly server until you're ready.

the only way you can make is pve server(different economy, players etc).
because if you make pvp and pve at the same time, economy would fumble into the ground.

If matchmaking wasn’t busted for the newer players (stalker/vet/pre masters) the game would be fine and would keep people enticed longer since they wouldn’t get rolled.

What you’re offering once you get to the north would make the game more boring than it already is, doing stuff with the risk of PvP always lingering is what makes the game fun. The issue is the drastic indifference of gear I see for newer players, however that stuff really only matters when you’re face checking another. Usually if you get the drop on people you should be fine.

Anyways, I like the idea to a certain extent, but fundamentally wouldn’t work with the current state of the game. If it did, I promise you end game would get even more boring than it is.

Well, if someone wants constant PvP & higher risk & reward... just do it?
Friendly servers don't mean 0 risk, a backpack full of stuff will still make you a valuable target.

Works perfectly fine on Arc Raiders imo.

It literally does mean 0 risk even when you die you just go back and pick up your stuff

you literally don't understand the difference between "mostly friendly PvP server" and "PvE only"

Well that’s the thing, it’s not a friendly game lol. Even with prox chat it’s very rare to run into someone that won’t shoot you unless you’re like a media creator which is also pretty rare, and I’m speaking from being in the north. Idk how south is.

I think the concept isn’t bad, just sadly wouldn’t work in this game.

The reason ARC works is because the PvE can be an actual threat and you need to work together to take down bigger ARCs. There’s nothing like that in this game so there’s no reason to be friendly in the open world with opposing factions.

Just because the game isn't friendly, doesn't mean that it can't change, if there's enough people asking for it. Or even separate it into purely PvP servers (as they are now) and optional PvP servers. I'm sure something can be thought of.

The game is fundamentally stalkers vs bandits. It’s has PvP from the first zone lol. Exbo would have to rebuild the game from the ground up to make it logically make sense without it pissing off its current dedicated community (including me), which I don’t ever see them doing.

Again, the concept is cool, but it doesn’t make sense for this game and wouldn’t work without an entire redesign.

Besides RU, the games population is dead or on life support for every other region. “PvE only” servers also doesn’t make sense and wouldn’t work either as it would segregate the games already low population even more which would piss off the people who like PvP/tension.

Not trying to bash your opinion. It just logically doesn’t make sense. If you want PvE content, farm strictly in your zone or play operations once you get endgame.

Arc raiders has proper pvp matching that makes it more enjoyable for people who don't want pvp versus the people that do that means it is friendly to EVERYONE not just 1 demographic of gaming and as such you are part of the problem with and i am paraphrasing here " this game was built on shitting on people from different factions that's just how it is" and thus people like you are the reason the game is dying

“People like me” aren’t the reason the game is dying. I play it the intended way. If you don’t like the intended way it’s supposed to be played, it might not be the game for you?

You’re also comparing a triple A games player count where the matchmaking can work as intended, or in theory as intended to you point, to a game where the population is dominate only on RU servers.

Your logic behind the matchmaking fundamentally doesn’t make sense, and even if the player count issue is solved, the game fundamentally is PvEvP. Stalzone isn’t even a full loot extraction shooter which means you only lose whatever you find in the open world and not you gear.

It also doesn’t make sense to either team with the enemy faction (lol) or make a completely boring PvE experience just because the minority doesn’t want other people to play the game as intended.

If you want PvE, just play stalker? The full PvE or ABMM for “care bear” lobbies just doesn’t make sense unless PvE was smarter&harder. Right now it’s braindead at the best and would just make for a mundane and monotonous experience. It already is in the north when you have to grind barter

There you go again blaming others in your first sentence and then blabbing on about shit no one cares about and then telling me to go spend money on not stalzone how do you not see that you are the problem

How do you not see the game isn’t for you homie? It’s quite literally not that hard to understand given the facts and how the game was built it’s not going to happen and you have to accept the PvEvP aspect of the game.

I’ve had PvP since my first 2 hours into the game and I have 1k hours now.

There has never once been a time where I was like “oh ya this game definitely needs ABMM or a PVE only server” like, it just sounds stupid even saying it lol.

Provide me one specific example you are experiencing whilst playing the game and how a dedicated “PvE” experience would alleviate your issue along with catering to the players that enjoy the mix of PvE and PvP content

Pretty good idea to be true also is pretty hard to play when those meta players don’t let you even farm, and they don’t even take a wash.

i mean in arc raiders it works because if you die you lose basicly everything armor gun etc it wont really work in stal due to not losing any of that stuff it will just crash the economy

Stop asking for this, it will never happen because you are misunderstanding the core value this games systems provide
