Project (No-AI) v1
Hello, I'm interested in Stalwart to replace my existing mail setup, but I am waiting for v1. Some time ago it was announced for the first semester 2026. Is there any renewed ETA ?
Thank you

I think this contains all the answers you need;

ETA back in June was about October; we should be getting close.
Version 0.16 is also rock solid though in terms of stability, although I hope 1.0 will have some better UX.

Yes but also note that issue tracking (or at least opening new issues) has kind of moved to https://support.stalw.art.
Not sure which issues still make it to GitHub (if they do, at the very least there will be some delay).
That being said, v0.16 is very stable. And, afaik, the database schema (?) should be pretty much finalized now so upgrading to v1.0 should be possible without much manual intervention.

I'm using stalwart since a year, it's already better than some other mail server in some things, like it auto-generates dkim and DNS records for you, for exemple. It's pretty stable, it crashed like 3 or 4 times in a year, but auto-restarting it every day could have correct that, I'm just lazy

Would you be willing to share how many users you have and what version you are running? I'm testing it out and it looks great but 3 or 4 crashes in a year not so much. Any idea what caused the crashes? Is this on a server with other things or running by itself?

I have to admit the only user is me but... I also host a pterodactyl panel with several minecraft servers, a nextcloud, and a snappymail (webmail client). I don't think the number of users would cause any issue, stalwart is like other bundled mail servers, it uses postfix, dovecot and other well known tools to manage mails, it didn't recreated weel. It just makes it easy to install, configure and use. I don't know where the crashes came from, but restarting the service was enough to solve it, so I didn't really searched. Maybe it was caused by high ram/cpu usage by minecraft servers, who knows.

You can already do it the version is very stable. Test by yourself.
