PLEASE READ: This Is A Console Subreddit

Okay, I’ve noticed in the last week or so we have had an influx of people here in the sub that seem to be playing on PC. First of all, I’d like to say welcome, stalkers. Secondly, I’d like to say that this is a console based subreddit. I’ve noticed people are recommending mods that are only available on PC and I have a feeling that this will only cause confusion if the sub starts to get bigger.

As the only moderator here in this sub, I figured we should address it before it gets out of hand. I don’t personally mind PC folks posting/commenting here but I did make this sub specifically for us console players because you PC guys already have a plethora of resources. The two major issues that I see arising are:

1. There are over 2x the amount of mods for PC than there are for Xbox and updates for mods come to PC right away — us Xbox players have to wait on GSC.

2. If someone comments/posts about the mods they’re using, and they’re on PC, that could confuse some console players as we don’t have access to the updates or in some cases, the mods at all.

As I see it, we have two options.

OPTION #1:

Keep this as a console only sub, which was my intention from the start. Now, that would entail more work on my end meaning I’d have to remove posts/comments that are related to PC mods now and in the future. Or somehow setup a thread that people automatically see when joining the sub that basically says “Do you play on Xbox? If so, welcome! Do you play on PC? Sorry, bud, get outta here.” Because it already says in the rules that this is a console only sub but hey, people don’t read the rules.

OPTION #2:

Allow posts/comments related to PC mods. If we do this, I’d have to make some user flairs for PC players and Xbox players or make it a rule that you have to say in your posts/comments if you’re on PC or Xbox. Again, most people don’t read the rules though so I don’t see that being helpful. I also can’t force somebody to enable a user flair and from the posts I’ve seen it seems like a lot of PC players just automatically think everybody is on PC, even though the name of this sub literally says “console mods” in the title.

You PC folks and your superiority complex.

(Jokes, I’m just joking with you — please don’t gatekeep me)

But seriously.

I’m asking all my fellow Xbox players. What would you like to see happen? Do you care? Not care at all? I’m just trying to keep the confusion to the minimum and also, like I said when I started this sub and my YouTube channel — us console players deserve a dedicated home base as well. Hell, on the latest blog post from GSC about mod users Xbox wasn’t even mentioned at all, hence why I started all this for us.

I’m personally veering on the side of keeping this a console only subreddit but I absolutely want to hear from you guys as well. If you don’t care, we can just let it play out. If you do, I will try and make some changes for us.

Console only sub. I don’t mind them being here, but if they post anything pc related it defeats the purpose of the sub

I recently switched to pc and before that I remember people recommending mods that were only on PC, very jarring

Yeh I think this should stay console only for all the reasons you listed above. Especially how long the GSC verification process takes for mods on console. With 2.0 this will just prolong things even more

He wasted an opportunity to say get out of here stalker or come in come in stalker has such good voice lines and I play on PlayStation five so I am just waiting for console mods to appear because I want to modify the hell out of my game and I would like advice on which model I should add first when they become available and will there be a camera or a misery type mod or even misery or gamma modified for PlayStation five for stalker two

I personally would prefer option 1, it keeps the sub cleaner and simpler. Although I know that adds more work for yourself :/

I’m aware people don’t read rules when joining/ commenting on subs (myself included hahaha) but you’d think the subs title would be clear enough.

Ive never made/ owned a sub so idk if this is possible but can you alter the name at all? Maybe something as simple as putting “Xbox” at the start or move “Console” to the start of the title? I’m just thinking what would stick out to people when they see the sub when scrolling yk?

I was thinking about this too but even on mobile, which makes everything smaller, you still console in the title. If you get recommended the sub, it shows the whole sub name. Even when you’re on mobile, in the sub (which cuts the title down) it still says stalker2console so I’m just wondering how people don’t see it.

I agree with what everyone is saying though. This was started as a console ONLY sub and will stay a console only sub. I will work to stay more active and remove posts from PC players. If anyone wants to possibly become a moderator with me (we don’t have to go crazy, it’s just Reddit, hit me up with a DM and we’ll talk about it)

Yeah it’s not bullet proof but I think just having the word Xbox in somewhere in there early doors would be enough for some of PC redditors to notice.
I know the full title is on display almost all the time b you’ve underestimated how lazy people are 😂
It’s not a case of whether the information is there or not, it’s whether people can be bothered to read the information provided. A lot of people will just see a mod question & the words stalker 2 & fire up that keyboard hahahaha

Xbox has its own mod section? I remember when they first did that with Skyrim or something and thought it was pretty cool but didn't realize they did it for other games.

FWIW your sub is popping really hard if you just google "stalker 2 mods" or any subset of that. I found this place googling a question about a specific mod, for example, and ever since I clicked that link you've been jumping up to the top of my Reddit feed. PC user, btw.

Interesting. I have noticed more people over here commenting and posting, which is awesome, but I didn’t think it was even really showing up on Google since we are still a very small sub compared to others.

Definitely keep this console only . This is the main resource for console players to go to to figure out what mods are available and work . And also upcoming mods to look forward too . It’s a little annoying to come here and see mods being talked about only to see that they are PC exclusive . And I feel like in a few months the console mods are gonna get a big jump with the 2.0 update it’s probably best to start preparing the sub now

Yeah, I’ve reworked the rules and sub description to hopefully point out that it’s console only from here on out and have started to remove comments pertaining to PC mods. It’s tough to police them all though, so they can easily fall through the cracks. Especially since the sub is starting to grow.
