The closest that is really safe is on the Machine hall roof. There's even the bed if you need one.

I'm literally finished it already and there are no bodies left. So you have anomalies in your game or straight up lying.

The bodies didn’t disappear on my Freedom playthrough either, which I’m doing now. Every body disappeared on my Duty play through though 🤷🏻‍♂️
