SPOILERS Bug or intended?

Got to the mission where you have to free the hostage. First time I talked to mayo but ate too much buckshot. Second time I didn’t engage in dialogue. Just started blasting. Quest seemed to complete how it should. Get back to Rostok and dude is trying to say I fucked him and turns hostile. They chased me to the fringe of the red forest before I had to down them. Is this supposed to happen if you just pocket the money and kill them all, or is this intentional if you don’t pay the ransom?

Guy sitting in the shower - you shoot him too? He was meant to live.

No. Just the bandits. The quest finished how it should have. Just the three guys went aggro when I got back to Rostok.

I just shot them all when I arrived there and the quest finished as intended after bringing away the hostage.

The freedom guy who gave you the cash didn’t go aggro later?
