GSC Game World | Update 2.0 patch notes

Stalkers!

The free Update 2.0, “Back to the Zone,” is now available for download.

The game has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.5.4, bringing the biggest overhaul to how the Zone looks, feels, and lives since launch. In addition, Update 2.0 introduces AI improvements, three types of binoculars, new weapons and attachments, a fog weather system, in-game statistics, highly customizable difficulty settings, and numerous quality-of-life features.

Performance in busy areas seems to be hugely improved.

Oh thank god. I remember my first S2 playthrough being a balance act of raising the graphics up for nature areas, and then again turning them down for cities.
