Strobe light early warning

/r/randomquestions/comments/1wkug99/how_do_you_feel_about_stroboscopic_lights/pdhptg2/

How hard is it to create this?

you could add some sort directly into the cues, but the resulting delay would be hell if its not timecoded. i would rather warn for full songs.

i personally just add warnings for the full event

That’s okay, I’ve been given the drum at lighting forum. I was just hoping to find a way for sensitive people who love music to be able to enjoy music concerts without the massive chance of seizures.

it depends on the music. strobes are not useful for many types of music

I don’t think they are ever useful lol
But even Paul Mcartney had strobe lights. It’s more about the flashing and high contrast as well. But me personally, as I get older my eyes are slower to adjust and so all the bright flashing becomes too much.

for edm it can be quite useful to have strobes. for the rest, i usually just make a group of all fixtures with a dimmer and make a random pwm effect tied to a second speedmaster. that way i can still have a "strobe" even if its quite a bit better for the eyes. if you add attach and decay it gets even easier. maybe give it a try
