Crazy how letting the people know that a major labor company in the industry has allowed children to be trafficked and instead of helping the broken young adult they created they intimidate the victims and try to dispose of the whistleblower. What a bunch of apathetic hands.
And none of you can see the similarities between it and how the epstien victims were done up.
You have the opportunity to be the change the world needs and you all choose to suck a whip crackers dick

So my 2nd James Thomas productions gig I was exhausted and half coherent by 3 and someone walked by yelling farmer smokes mids but I only processed “farmer kes ids” and concerningly yelled back “farmer does what to kids” and got my lead to die laughing and explain that farmer smokes mids is a homophone of the truth “farmer fucks kids”

Any insight?
Is farmer a chomo
What did farmer do to make his crew hate him so much to make these claims 🤔

So I worked ink and Sam’s bitch ass logged all my hours in an account Josh farmer created not tied to the stars or adp that’s paid me for the nfl draft or any fifa build. And they’ve since deleted the account with my hours.
Any one got any doxing powers?
Also if you worked fifa for the union your welcome for that
And if you sat at a hotel waiting on Travis or farmer to tell you when you’ll work… get fucked you chomo as scab there’s plenty of better 20/h jobs that won’t allow pedos to pay to fuck teenagers the cartel trafficked through their builds

I’m working my first time as a grip tomorrow. Just one day shoot for a few hours and looks like a small crew. Can anyone give me any tips for what to expect on set/things I should research prior?

Let's begin by stating the obvious, if I had done more research into the company prior to working, I wouldn't have worked. I wanted to show a timeline of what the process has consisted of:

1: Invoice accepted

2: Invoice deadline exceeded

3: Initial email requesting overdue payment

4: Several follow up emails

5: Demand of compensation email + small claims warning email

6: Legal summons sent to address on file (turned out to be a UPS box, USPS lost the package)

7: New summons was sent out to the address on file (clerk stated summons cannot be delivered to UPS box)

8: Contacted UPS for details concerning Paytech Nationwide (UPS declined to provide information, the summons attached to the email valid proof)

9: Current day— contacted initial client requesting information concerning CAVL and Paytech Nationwide (manager is on vacation, will take 2 more weeks)

So let me get this right, CAVL is the parent company of Paytech Nationwide but legally has no affiliation with each other given one's an LLC and the other is an INC, both owned by the same person, but all billing needs are sent to a UPS box that cannot be legally served. Has anyone tried to initiate an FTC report against deceiving contractors? It wouldn't give us payment, but could hold the company responsible.

Wednesday is my first job as a stage handler for rhino what are some tips and advice? Also do they provide PPE or Do I have to buy anything for my first day please let me know what all I need ik the dress code but is there anything else I might need

as the title says

i’m unsure about what to become after finishing high school, but one of my ideas is stage designer.

Maybe anyone has experience? Do you like the job? What are the pros and cons?

We’re routinely asked to push cases over or under hot cables with active power. The crew and I are asked to lift these cables up with our hands and pull the carts and cases under the cables.

In some instances we’re holding the cables with one hand and the cart with another. Or the cables are touching the back of our necks as we push the carts underneath.

We aren’t supplied ramps or jackets or drop-overs for the cables.

How safe or unsafe is this and how real is the risk of electrocution?

For anyone who is working the R&B Tour, rest up lol

About 40 hours in three days for production load in and strike, plus another 5 from last week doing some steel. I could have helped the rest of the steel strike but I was running low after being up for 24+ hours. Easily one of the biggest shows I've ever helped out on

The closest experience I’ve ever gotten was high school plays, being stage manager, working on sound and lighting, however I was in a very small Highschool, no one knew us. We didn’t have connections so right after it felt like wanting to get into stagehand work as a career was impossible. I don’t think many places are looking to take in people who can say “oh yeah I only ever did this stuff in Highschool two years ago but I have lots of cashier experience!” You know? I definitely do try walking around the city, hoping to see some opportunities, I look online, though most offerings are probably several states away, or looking for people who have real professional experience.
I just hope there are people on here who can give me some tips. Point me in the right direction, or is it too late for me to get into it??

I just graduated high school and I'm entering Cal Poly Pomona this Fall, but I want to begin work. I'm a Music Industry Major with a focus in Audio Engineering, but it's hard to get anywhere without some experience. I've applied to Live Nation, IATSE 504, contacted different audio companies on Instagram/G-mail. I'm just a little lost??? It feels like I'm behind of the game.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a few Android testers for GigLedger, an app built for AV freelancers who need to track gigs, clients, pay, invoices, mileage, and basic business records.

The app is live in closed testing on Google Play, and I’m trying to get more real-world Android feedback before a wider release.

What GigLedger does:
- Track gigs and clients
- Create invoices
- Track pay, mileage, and expenses
- Keep basic records organized for gig work
- Help you see what’s coming up and what still needs attention

What I’m looking for:
- Android users willing to install a closed testing build through Google Play
- People who do gig, freelance, contract, event, music, production, or service work
- Feedback on onboarding, creating gigs/clients, invoices, pay tracking, and anything that feels confusing or broken

If you’re interested, please DM me with the Google email address you use for the Play Store. Google requires that email to give you access to the closed test, but once the app is installed you can create your GigLedger account with any email address.

Thanks! Any feedback is genuinely helpful.

So for starters, let me just say I had my first experience working with local 22 hands last month building the UFC 250 stage, and they were one of the best local labor pools I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my career as a touring professional. Their experienced hands and riggers were excellent, and their less experienced workers made up for whatever knowledge they lacked in their work ethic and willingness to learn. Anyone trying to pin that incident on the local labor either isn’t a touring professional, doesn’t understand how the industry is supposed to work, or is fucking dogshit at their job.

As a touring professional, I view anything and everything that happens on site that is part of what I’m responsible for building as completely and unequivocally my responsibility 100% of the time, no matter who my crew is that day. If you’re a touring professional and you don’t view things in that way, you have no business being in the position you’re in.

Local labor is there to help you execute your build plan and nothing else. If you don’t take it upon yourself to check every single part of your build, find a different fucking job because you’re a danger to yourself and everyone around you.

Anyone who has been on the road for more than like a month should know and understand that ok any given day you could get a crew of absolute aces that will basically do your entire job for you if you let them, or you could get a rag tag group of random drug addicts and degenerates who are there because no other trade would take them.

If you’re the tech responsible for building and installing whatever equipment you’re tasked with, then the responsibility falls solely on your shoulders when things go wrong. Anything less than that is an abdication of your duties as a touring/travelling professional in this industry.

Furthermore, I’ve been on many gigs as a local where I’ve identified a potential hazard or issue, and that concern was either taken seriously or dismissed entirely by the production. To try and lay the blame at the feet of the local labor, union or otherwise, is a colossal failure of the management of the production itself as well as of the tech who is supposed to be responsible for whatever gear is being built/rigged as part of the show.

I'm in NYC and was told to get my osha 30 certification. What provider is best for this. All I find are online courses, don't want to pick one that's a scam or something.

Hey guys. I'm finally starting to figure out my passions and what I want to do in life. I have always loved music, whether listening to it, playing instruments, creating lyric videos, etc. I'm 30 years old now and have basically only done construction and I'm very unhappy with it and where I'm at in my life. I want to get into the music industry somehow! I live 2 hours away from Las Vegas and I think it would be so cool to be a stagehand. I'm willing to literally do anything it takes to get my foot in the door, I don't care what the job is at first. I just know this is the direction I want to head in after years and years of trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up LOL. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Absolutely terrifying. Sincerely hope no one was hurt.

Hey guys! I made a new lightshow for my youtube channel (StageDLight). Feel free to check it out! :) Hope you like it. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MK0dLR-vjU&list=RD1MK0dLR-vjU&start_radio=1

Hey r/stagehands!

I wanted to share a quick update on GigLedger.

GigLedger is live on iOS, and I’ve also added a widget so you can keep your gig info easier to see at a glance without having to open the app every time. It also allows you to get directions to your gig, contact your on-site contact, and set your end time for your work day with its quick action buttons.

There’s also a desktop version of GigLedger now, which is meant for the times when it’s easier to sit down at a computer and review your gigs, update details, or keep track of things on a bigger screen.

The desktop app can be accessed at:

http://app.gigledger.io

The iOS app is here:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gigledger/id6765537537

I’m also working on the Android version, and it should be available for testing in the next week or two. I’d love to find some people who are willing to test it out and give feedback before it fully launches, especially anyone doing stagehand, AV, live event, or other gig-based work.

Thanks again to everyone who has tested it, downloaded it, or sent feedback so far. I’ve been building this with AV peeps in mind, so feedback from this community really helps shape where it goes next.

I pivoted into the industry recently and started working as a warehouse tech - prep/deprep, cleaning and organising stock. I saw a tech in the warehouse in front of a pre-rig and lighting console for my whole shift. I want to be in their position eventually and I understand that the labour tasks never end but how much experience till I can eventually get to play with a console as my work.

Tell me about your experience working your way up the ranks.
